Hi Meg: I THINK you might be having a miscarriage, I'm not sure of course, but with the clots this is a BIG possibility. The only way of knowing for sure is to have a pelvic ultrasound. Another thing could be signs of an Etopic Pregnancy - thus the wonky results. So either way I would like you to go see a doctor or even go to the hospital and get checked up on. IF it is a miscarriage there is nothing that they can do, they will just send you home. BUT IF it is an etopice pregnancy this can be VERY dangerous and even life threatening. So please get some medical help ASAP OK? And let me know how things go and what the doctors say? Good luck hon!

Now the bleeding stopped and it was only two days and I experienced regular period pains. Not giant clumps that mean a miscarriage. I've had two miscarriages before so I know what it feels like and this didn't feel like it. It honestly felt like a period that was overdue. What do you think?

Since you have already had 2 miscarriages, then you would be the one to know - that is for sure - We are VERY vulnerable to stresses and ups and downs in our lives, so this could be just a delayed bad period. We all have had them, it is so hard to tell from descriptions and it is VERY hard to give advice on others descriptions. So If anything else happens then just let me know, and IF you feel like you are in "trouble" then please get checked out ASAP OK? Good luck and health hon!

Thanks for all your help! I appreciate all the advice you've given and I'll keep you updated. Take care!

Keep in mind, this is coming from a woman whos tried to have kids the past 2 1/2 years. But, Ive noticed that sometimes PMS is mistaken for pregnancy. Trust me, Ive done it a million times! But also, you stressing about it can make your period late. Ive done that probably a million and one times, too. Just try to chill out and not think about it. Until youre 2 weeks past the day your period was expected to come, the chances are slim. Even when youre 2 weeks late, its still not set in stone that theres a lil bun in your oven! I hope that helps!

My situation is a somewhat unique one. My husband and I have tried to have children for the past years. After the first year of trying we saw a fertility specialist who put me on Clomid and did a series of IUIs. He told us we wouldn't have issues getting pregnant...he was wrong. After a year with him we decided to cut ties. We weren't any closer to getting pregnant and I was an emotional wreck. There was no sense in us continuing on like that without successful results. We decided to take some time off because we needed to recuperate after all of that. We still continued to have unprotected sex in the hopes we could do it on our own, but that was as far as we went. Now fast forward to 2009 and our situation is odd.
As the years went my my husband and I learned that it was okay for us to be on our own. This year we rarely bring up the baby stuff. This topic is usually brought up by family members wanting us to have grandchildren. ;-) My husband was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes a couple of months ago so we have been focusing on getting him back to normal (or at least normal for a diabetic). Last week I started having strange symptoms. It started out with wanting to sleep. I slept in one day until 1:00 pm and still went to bed at 9:00 pm. I took naps during the day and I started going to bed early. I was still so tired when I was up though (still am). This weekend I experienced tender breasts. I mean sore to the point it was keeping me from sleeping. I couldn't ride in our SUV because the bouncing around about killed me. The slightest hop in my step made me grimace. I got to experience nausea as well. The type of nausea that made me feel "blah" all weekend. I starting urinating a lot more often as well. I got this feeling of feeling bloated like I was going to start my period, but that isn't possible because my period isn't due anytime soon. We thought maybe it could be ovulation, but there hasn't been any of the crampy feelings I get with ovulation and my mucus hasn't changed either. My temperature is elevated to 99.2. I know this is also a sign of ovulation. We didn't really think much about the symptoms until yesterday (Sunday) when I could hardly move because my breasts were so sore. We're concerned because this kind of thing doesn't happen when I ovulate. Whether or not we wanted it to the idea of pregnancy crept into our thoughts. It's still too early for a pregnancy test. Since my cycle is off I still have another 30 days before I could really confirm it with the arrival of my favorite person (Aunt Flow). I think I might take a test just to get it off my mind, but what I was looking for was some encouragement from fellow wannabe preggers women. I also want to know that I am not overreacting to the situation. Obviously my hopes are up, but the odds of me being pregnant are pretty slim. Am I being logical in deducing that pregnancy is an option? or is it just wishful thinking? 8-|

Dear Sarnichur: I TRULY hope that you are indeed pregnant! And NO you are not just having wishful thinking! I will tell you a story of a very good friend of ours, she and her husband tried for 9 or 10 years to get pregnant and nothing happened. They eventually decided to adopt, they brought in a set of twins and heartbreakingly the night before it was all final - at 6 months of age - the mother decided to keep them!! they were DEVESTATED! To say the least, due to all the upset she didn't take notice of what was going on with her own body! 8 months later came the 1st of her 3 "natural" children!!!!! And this has been reported MANY times by couples who were trying to conceive! So the chances are still there for you too. You are still menstruating - which means you are ovulating - so ANYTIME you are menstruating you can still get pregnant, actually in some rare cases even if you have a one ovary you can still get pregnant.
I don't want to get your hopes up and then taking a test that shows negative - because it's too early! BUT since you are showing such strong symptoms of pregnancy, I would think that there would be no harm in actually taking a HPT now! And seeing, then IF it shows negative, just wait another week or so and take another one! OR you could ask your doctor for an ultrasound!
A lot of times when we REALLY want something we can make it happen OR appear to happen - as in an hysterical pregnancy. BUT that doesn't sound like you at all! It sounds like you were getting comfortable and all of a sudden there's something strange going on! And you know your body best. SO take the test and let me know OK? Just keeping in your mind that it could be wrong OK? Good luck and health honey, and I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you.!

I got a BFN today so we have decided to give it another week and then, if I get another negative, we'll make an appointment to get a blood test. I'm not late. I still have awhile before that time of the month appears (or doesn't). We're concerned right now because the symptoms are pretty strong. My breasts have gotten a little bigger and now there are blue lines on them. I have also experienced cramping. The nausea is coming and going....I didn't have it all day yesterday and then last night it came back and I had trouble finding anything to eat (nothing sounded good). I would normally think my period was about to start, but it isn't due for a while. This could be why I am getting a negative reading too. I still have another 2 1/2-3 weeks before it is supposed to happen. My cycle isn't like a normal woman's anyway. My cycles run between 38 and 52 days Anyway....keep your fingers crossed. Thanks Bambi for the kind words. :-D

My situation is kind of weird. Ever since i was in high school, my period has been irregular. The first time I got it, it seemed normal, until the second time didn’t come for another 9 months or so. So, my mother thought that I had PCOS [poly-cystic ovarian syndrome] so when my fiancé and I talked about it, we felt that it was safe to save some money, and have sex unprotected. It's been like that since last August or September; I had my period in the middle of February and haven't had it since. But now, I've been cramping up, my favorite foods have been seeming indisputably disgusting lately, along with my stomach churning like I'm going to throw up, unless I eat every few hours, plus I've been more tired, and my breasts seem to be getting a little bigger, and they're more tender but also really itchy. I took a pregnancy test a week ago and it read negative. But since I don’t get regular periods, I don’t know if I've "missed" my period yet and whether or not to take another test.
Any help??

--I forgot a few symptoms.. The obvious constantly going to the bathroom, way more than I think is humanely possible.. and earlier today my fiance and I were participating in some foreplay, and he had said that inside my canal felt like I was about to start my period. He described it as tighter and felt that my cervix was lower than usual.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Cassiopeia - my FAVORITE constellation ;-) - It definitely sounds like you have symptoms of pregnancy! But due to the fact that you are irregular, it's going to be a difficult one to figure out. Due to the fact that you have your period on and off, it does sound like cystic ovaries and that usually can really cause fertility problems - due to the lack of ovulation. So since your fiance has already noticed a lowering of your cervix and your vagina was tighter I would take a HPT! IF it is negative, that doesn't really mean anything right now. The best thing would be to go get checked out by your doctor and have him/her do a blood test! These are more accurate, and he/she could also send you for an ultrasound to determine if you are pregnant and also what is going on with your ovaries. So please keep me updated OK? And good luck and health!

So I think I'm pregnant, but the tests are saying negative.
I had unprotected sex for a straight month(June). Every day except for the five that I was on my period. So then for the month of July, I got my period but it was a day late, and it only lasted for a day. It was a very light. Then for three more days, I spotted. When this started, I was getting nausea often and tender breasts. To this day (first of August) I'm still very nausea, I've vomited twice, my breasts are causing me pain and very tender, certain smells are making me queasy, I'm always tired, and I'm very moody also. I've taken three pregnancy tests, and they all came back negative. I still think I'm pregnant, and I just wanted some opinions or advice. I would greatly appreciate it a lot.

Hi hon: Before I became a supporter on this site, I would have told you with 100% certainty that the HPT are totally right!!! BUT now I can't say that! I have had several posters on here say the exact same thing as yourself, and one even had a blood test at a hospital that came back negative, and all their tests came back negative. But low and behold as soon as they went to their regular doctor and asked for a blood test and an ultrasound, they are pregnant!!!! So I would advise you to go get a blood test from your regular doctor. IF that shows negative, ask for an ultrasound! This will be definitive! I wish you luck and health, and please let me know what happens OK?
