I am looking in to different ways in which people lose the ability to hear, or in other words, become deaf. One of the causes of deafness that is completely new to me is something called Autoimmune Inner Ear Disease. Apparently, this leads to hearing loss in a lot of the cases that occur, though it is a rare disease. Are there any people with Autoimmune Inner Ear Disease here?

I do not have Autoimmune Inner Ear Disease, but I am a nurse and I met a man with Autoimmune Inner Ear Disease recently. In fact, if the Autoimmune Inner Ear Disease is discovered early enough, it can be treated very well with drugs. In that case, hearing loss is rare. But because Autoimmune Inner Ear Disease does not always have obvious symptoms, it is not always caught on time, and deafness can occur.
