I've been getting recurrent UTIs and have just been told that I should go on a regimen of taking an antibiotic whenever I have sex. This is a problem because I'm on a very low dose birth control and that would probably up the chances of me getting pregnant. So I looked into the patch and the ring which are not effected by the antibiotics, but they both have a continuous release of estrogen and have led to a lot of deaths and blood clots. So I was like, OK, I'll get the shot. But while that seems to be great at preventing pregnancy it also seems to be great at making it impossible to get pregnant for at least 9 months after discontinuing it. Does anyone else have recurrent UTI problems and take antibiotics? What would the best route to go with for birth control?

I guess. I was kind of hoping to avoid that. I find it makes me feel less close to my boyfriend.
