on the 14th of november which was a friday my boyfriend and i had sex, using a condom that did not break. the sunday after that, which was the 16th, i started the birth control pill. The next friday, whcih was the 21st, my breasts got really sore. Then the monday after that, which was the 24th, i started getting nausea. Is it just the pill?

Yes, it could very well be the pill causing you discomfort. Sore and tender breasts are a symptom for sure, as well as being nauseas. Your breasts may even increase in size as well. Try taking the pill at night before bed, this way you won't have that pukey feeling thru out the day.
If the symptoms get worse or hang around for a long time, i would ask your dr. if he/she cab adjust your script. Sometimes different brands of bc don't react well with some women and it is perfectly normal if your dr. makes a change for you. Some times a women has to thru 2 or 3 different types before she finds the one that agrees with her and her system.
