Doc found old endometriosis which is now inactive.. I'm not sure what that means. She thinks my pains are related to irritable bowl syndrome - it seems common that women who suffer from severe period pains are also suffering from ibs and don't realise as pain is so similar. But as for the bleeding mentioned.. doc thinks my system is in a state of shock from all the pills and the depot i have taken over the last few years. I have been pill/depot free since March but seemingly it takes a really long time to recover from the effects of them all.. well over 10 months. I hope this brings someoen else peace of mind!! If you're worried and bleeding won't stop maybe see you doc about a diff contraceptive method, i'll let you all know if mine dies down after my ops :-(

i have experienced similar problems myself .
currently i have the implant and have had it for about 10 months nearly all of that with no periods 3 weeks ago i started bleeding slightly off colour blood . i went my doctor after two weeks who just said it was a possible affect of the implant . she gave ,me some tablets(marvelon) to take to settle it down but said if i diddnt mind it might be better to just wait it out and see if it stoppe don its own accord. she did say that if it carried on for another 2 weeks to come back to be examined. for the past few days i have had thick tar like browny discharge . not enough to fill a tampon each day but still enough to be a bother. ive been really worried about the whole thing and ive been paranoid about cervical cancer!. i dont no what to do i want to take the tablets but if theres something wrong i dont want to make it even worse but pumping more hormones in to me!
help please! :$ :$

Thank goodness I found you girls!! I was on the patch for 8 years and then moved to Nuvo Ring. When I moved I had ran out of my perscript for my ring so I had gotten my boy friend to bring it out with him when he moved. Because he had left it in the truck and made a stop in the mountains, he left the ring in the truck and froze it. I was advised not to use it. So I was birth controll-less for around a month and a half. During this time I experienced the black blood, and I recently got the Mirena placed in. I have had it for two weeks and I have black blood everyday. Its the worst!! But I do also experience it if I happen to get a yeast infection too, also gross....I am still meeting with my doctor to talk about it, see what she says.
Thank you all!!

Hello ladies,
I just wanted to mention that I have had this problem for some time now. I have been ultrasounded internally and externally, tested for STD checked for endometriosis,(sorry if the spelling is in correct). Im going to a GYNY soon and will post any info I recieve. What I wanted you all to know, I have never taken any form of birth control. It appears there is a connection but I think that its just bc it's very common for women to be on it so naturally most of you see each others posts and start to think thats whats causing it. I don't believe it is but I will repost once Ive seen the doctor.

Hi I am 42 years now and I come from Africa in 1988 when i was young i started my first periods and it didn't stop when it started in 1988. The floor was heavy and lumps only which melted on the pads. I could cough, or laugh because lumps of blood come out when ever did such actions. It continued for more than 3 years. My parents took me to different Gyno and they gave me different medicines to take but they only reduced the floor not stop the periods.
Then in the 4th year I met a gyno who had knew my family, I explained my problem to him and straight away I was admitted into the local hospital in Africa, he performed a D&C on and put me on contraception pill. Now that helped a lot as straight away I started having normal periods. He told me to take contraception pill every 6 months. That means 6 months on 6 months off.
In 1993 I came to UK and I tried to stop taking contraception pill for a year but the Pro-longed heavy periods came back after 9 months. Therefore, then I went back on taking contraception pill 3 months on and 6 month of.
After going through all this I thought I was not going to have any children but last year I got married and straight away I was blessed with a baby girly and she is now 15 months.
Although after she was born I went back on a pill for 12 months but stopped last year in November 2012, then didn't have periods in December but This month in January 2013 the pro-longed heavy periods came back again, so I am thinking of going back on a pill.
Just like most of you all I can't be bovered to go to my GP to tell them of my history as they either ignore me and just repeat the same medicines I have taken in past, and they don't even refer me to any gyno. They tell me that they can;t put me on contraceptive pill because I have High Blood Pressure. I just ignore them and sign for it for 6 month treatment.
I wish more research can be done so that our children could have normal periods. because like me I inherited it from my mother who suffered with pro-longed periods until she reached her menopause.
