black discharge after prolonged period

Ok so what if your whole entire period is black....like not at the beginning or end but throught the whole thing ?

All I can say is GET OFF THE PILL if you are on it. I have had the WORST menstrual experiences thanks to the pill. 3 blood clots, 2 took me to the hospital. My cycle has been trying to get itself back in order for 5 years. I have had a year of missed periods and 1 year of being ON my period. If you can avoid pills, please do. I know condoms are tedious but at least you are not putting something into your body that is jerking it all up.

I have the same problem! i had gone off of birth control and after had gotten three extremely large ovarian cysts from it and it was reccomended that i go back on birth control so now i have had my period for 15 days and am on the 15th day of my birth control pack and my cyst symptoms are reoccuring and im getting the black blood after my period should have been over. what should i do???

Hi I'm 15 and I have the same problem. It started two months ago. The first month my periods were normal and then after I had prolonged black stuff but it stopped. The second month I have a normal period but the black stuff hasn't stopped yet and I think I started my third cycle. I can't tell the difference between the black and the red. Sorry TMI. I don't know what is going on and I'm really scared it will cause some iron deficiency.

Ive been experiencing prolonged period and clotting during this last period.I have never been on any kind of medication, contraception etc. I know i have a large fibroid on the front of my uterus. Ive also read these are signs of fibroid degeneration (prolonged beeding , clotting etc)
This has all coincided with me begining Reiki sessions for this specific cause and also following a 90% vegan diet. It hasnt been very long since i began all this so i was suprised at the idea of them being fibroid degeneration symptoms. Any comments??

I've had the same thing, but mine (the black discharge/period) lasts for either a week up to 9 weeks. I've had pap smears, std tests, ultrasounds and it all came back negative for anything. its scary. this has been happening for around 2 years now. if anyone knows anything please say
