I'm honestly really scared right now. I have specks of blood in my semen and I'm only 14. Should this cause any concern? I'm scared to go to the doctor, let alone bring it up with my parents. It's gone on for about a month or two.

Hi Concerned,

It is scary.  The good news is that it usually isn't anything serious.  At 14 it is extremely unlikely to be cancer for example.

Very often no cause is ever found but it can indicate an infection, are you sexually active?

If it continues you should tell your doctor.  You can always tell your parents it's a "male" problem and hopefully they'll respect your maturity enough not to inquire more.

My suggestion at this point, wait.

Hang in there, keep us posted.
