I'm a woman in my early 40s. Eight months ago I had unprotected sex. Several days later, I began having symptoms: depending on the day, either clear or white burning vaginal discharge. I can see it in my underwear, and it's every day, not just certain times of the month. There is no odor.

The discharge burns my skin and irritates both the vaginal opening and the rectum. It's very uncomfortable and affects my life in a major way.

Sometimes there is blood in my stool - not sure if this is from all the antibiotics, or from whatever is causing this. It started several months in.

I also have acne on my back and face - again, not sure if this is from the antibiotics or the original cause.

I've been to at least a dozen doctors: ob/gyns, dermatologists, family care doctors. Tested for everything. All the tests come back negative.

I've been on many courses of antibiotics: amoxicillin, zithromax, rocephin shot, doxycycline (repeatedly), tinidazole, moxifloxacin. Also been on many creams and topicals. None of this has helped, some makes it worse.

Does anybody have any idea what this could be? I'm getting so, so desperate.

Have you tried taking Probiotics?

I thoroughly recommend them, and if you need a topical solution in the short term, if you make your own yoghurt, in an Easiyo yoghurt maker (make sure it is plain yoghurt, not flavoured obvioudsly) use this fresh either externally or even internally and it helps with the burning sensation, I would do this at night, before bed, with clean underwear on and maybe a pad, you will be surprised though, not a lot comes out if you do insert it internally with a syringe or something similar designed for the purpose.

Definately go to a local health shop and ask for some probiotics, and let me know how you get on!

All those antibiotics will be destroying your bodies natural defences against anything, and can't be good for prolonged use.

Yes, I've tried probiotics...have been taking them on and off for months. I've also tried inserting yogurt, but it's been a random day here or there. It's soothing but doesn't fix the problem long-term. I'll try overnight though. Ugh.
