I have been dealing with allergies for almost three years now and I must say that sometimes I just cannot stand all the symptoms I have to endure. It is not that painful, but sneezing, runny nose, itching, this is all something that is not that easy to endure. I have been thinking about trying promethazine, but I have heard that it can cause stroke. Is that true?

Promethazine is one of the many medications used to deal with allergy symptoms. Its mechanism is based on blocking histamine receptors. I know that this drug should not be used for children less than 2 years old. Also, pregnant women, or women trying to conceive should talk to their doctors before taking this drug. Stroke might happen as a result of interaction of promethazine with some other drugs.
