I've been on this birth control now for almost two months and the only side effect I've been experiencing is some weird mood swings while on my period but every girl gets those sometimes. My periods are light and normal. I'm only 16 so I took this to regulate my periods and hormones and the first month was interesting. After that first month though everything is starting to get back to normal. It just depends on who you are I guess, good luck though from hearing all these scary side effects others have.

I've been in chateal for about 3 months and I started to notice my hair is shedding more than usual. Now, my eyebrows are completely gone!!! I was reading an article saying that it is a rare side effect, BUT I'm completely torn by this! I use to be on Levora and it was the only pill that was great, but planned parenthood stopped carrying it because they could no longer afford it. Such a disappoint, and this is what I get from the new pill? They told me it's the same dose and it shouldn't be a big difference. Well you know what? It screwed me over to have me lose my hair and my eyebrows!

I was three pills short from finishing my first pack. This was my first form of BC ever. I felt super moody and incredibly depressed. I also had a hard time sleeping at night. I start to develop acne when I hadn't before. After a week, my face cleared up and I was feeling better/normal again. Then I decided to give Chateal another shot and after 2 days in, the acne is starting to come back and I started to feel light-headed. After reading everyone else's replies, I think it's time to get rid of it.

When I was on them.... 7 months ago I had the worst mood swings it's weird how I never had that before! I felt more pain than ever on my ovaries so I stopped taking them... It's been 7 months I haven't take them I'm trying to get pregnant and yet I can't and it's really frustrating bc my period is now delaying each month (something I've never had problems wt my period being late) I suggest to all to not try this pills! They are worthless and also gives you a lot of headaches and nauseous.... Even after using them! dnt ever use this pills they just don't help at all!

A few years ago I was on the depo shot & switched to the nuva ring. HATED the ring. Recently I've started taking chateal. I'm about to be on my 3rd month & only have 1 side effect. Awful nausea, & my dr warned me about it & suggested I take it at bedtime, which I do. Other than that it works great for me. My first period was extremely light but lasted an entire week. I haven't had my 2nd period, which is common in the first few months & if you don't take the "sugar pills" (which I also don't take) ... It's a shame there's so many bad reviews, and at first reading them I was very nervous but gave it a shot. As far as weight gain like everyone's complaining about, I haven't gained any. Although I do watch what I eat & try to stay somewhat active. In my opinion, the weight gain can most likely be prevented. Sometimes when your hormones change you have to change your diet. Other than that I recommend at least trying it before trusting any other reviews because everyone's body is different.

This is the second time I've tried it and I'm in my second month. It gives me migraines, depression (crying at work, waking up crying, heart palpitations, insomnia, all the worst symptoms, acne like I'm a teenager). It was the low estogen option from Planned Parenthood. I'm going off of it immediately. I would rather use condoms and figure something else out with my partner than be a zombie and completely non-functioning.

I've been on chateal for about a year now and have had no pregnancy scares, so it's done it job. The first month I expierenced mood swings and headaches, but after that I was perfectly fine. I didn't gain weight nor have I lost sleep. I think it all depends on how your body accepts the pill. Good luck!

i've been on this pill for about 7 months. about a month ago i started having these random fits of crying for no reason. i'll feel better for a few days but then they'll come back worse than ever. i'm trying to figure out what's causing this and i'm wondering if it could be a side effect of my birth control. if there's anyone here with some medical knowledge who could help me out, that would be great. i've also been having some headaches and digestion problems, which i've seen a lot of people say they experienced when taking this.

I have been taking this pill for 6 months now. When starting the pills I did get nauseated but I expected that with just starting the pills. I have not had any major issues with this pill which is why I am still taking it. I don't think it will hurt to try it and if it does not work for you, you can always just switch to another pill. Everyone's body is different so you may or may not have the side effects others have. Hope this helps.

I was on Chateal for 2 years and did not notice any major issues. Yes, my period was heavier than normal, but that is pretty common with all contraceptive pills. I did not have issues with my sleep patterns or mood swings, as some people are commenting. I went off it about 8 months ago because my husband deployed to Afghanistan; my acne has been horrible the whole time he has been gone. I'm am about to re-start it, as he is coming home in a couple months. Hopefully, it will clear up my acne.

I have been on this pill for 11 days. I was given it from planned parenthood and told it was the same as Levora (which I have taken for 3 years with no issues). In 11 days I have gained 5 pounds, I am am emotional wreck, I have pjs symptoms constantly (sore breasts and back ache). I am breaking out and miserable. After only 11 days I am stopping this pill and will never go on it again. I have never felt so horrible. This is the first birth control pill that has ever affected me so badly so quickly!! BE WARE and definitely consult a real on gyn before getting on this! Planned parenthood has done well for me for the few years I have not been able to afford birth control until now. After today, I am not taking this again it has been so bad, I don't know if I want to continue crying or punch someone. I can't wait until this pill is out of my system! Condemns it is until I figure something else out! :(

I have been on Chateal and loved it. My period came same day and around the same time every month. No mood swings, headaches or weight gain. My breasts are bigger. I noticed breast tenderness for about a week before my period started version 2-3 days on no pill. Cramps were very minimal and my period was much lighter. They taste good too, don't need water to take. Highly recommend!

I am about the finish my 4th month on Chateal. I STRONGLY reccommend not taking this pill. The first month I had severe headaches as well as mood swings. The second month I was an emotional wreck and would cry all the time. My skin is breaking out terribly right now and I have NEVER had bad skin. I have gained 15 pounds. I feel nauseous all the time. My first month on it I didn't get my period. Since then, my period has been irregular (which was my whole reasoning for going on BC). My breasts are swollen and have gone up in size. I'm moody all the time. I'm tired all the day. Month 4 has also brought with it depression. I will be stopping this pill tomorrow.

Just got this birth control from PP. I had no side effects on Ortho Lo but I guess PP doesn't have it anymore smh

I was supposed to start Sunday but after reading all this I am terrified.

Plus the little booklet that comes with the pill isnt reassuring either, its talking about possible side effects such as stroke, clots, heart attack!

I dont know what to do.
