Been on birth control for about 3 1/2 years now, and I've switched between 4 different types of brands. Sadly my very first one, and favorite, got discontinued.
I've been on Chateal for a few months now, got a years supply from Planned Parenthood. For the most part, it does what it's supposed to (lighter periods, prevent pregnancy). 3 out of the 4 weeks in the pack I'm fine. My only issue is that I get increased anxiety and depression right before my period. It's been getting to a point where I want to lock myself up and not interact with anyone because I don't feel like myself. I have a family history of anxiety and depression, it's usually pretty mild and I haven't had to take any medication for it.
I made an appointment this week to get a nonhormonal iud inserted. For being on the pill for years, I want my body's hormones back. Even if it does mean a chance of increased acne and a little bit smaller boobs. Personally, I can't take this emotional roller coaster every time my period comes around. I'm in a serious long term relationship, and I hate to see what I'm doing to my partner because of pms emotional freak outs. It's never gotten this bad.
When you're on the pill, everyone's reaction to it is different. Give it at least three months for your body to adjust, and then check to see if you're still experiencing side effects. Your doctor might treat you as crazy for the signs of anxiety and depression, but you know your body better than anyone else. If you are experiencing any side effects after the first hree months on the pill, see you can switch brands/methods. Everyone is different, try to keep a level head and monitor what's going on with your body. Don't be scared about taking the pill, you don't want to physic yourself out about it. And as usual, most people that go on the internet for reviews typically have bad experiences with it (I'm sorry, mine is one of them).
Personally, I'm not considering having kids for a long time, so a more long term method is better for me. I'd be fine with trying out Chateal for a few months to see if my symptoms improve, but I'm honestly concerned about reproductive rights in the US atm. I'm getting a long term guarentee that I won't get pregnant for at least ten years. That way I don't have to worry about the cost of my pills and if I can still afford them if things change in the future.

I just started my second month! So ft so good haven't had any mood swing or a Naseua (knock on wood). The only thing I noticed is I get little tiny pimples not too serious where it's bothering me. Not sure if it is because I just started? It isn't bad enough for me to stop taking it right now.

I was on Cyred. That c**p makes me sick, I literally cannot eat anything without extreme gastric issues. Now reading all of this I'm really nervous about trying this new pill.

When I was younger I was on a different pill and had zero issues. It fixed my mood swings, my acne, my unwanted hair growth, and made my periods easy. I don't remember what it was, unfortunately and the doctor closed down that gave me my rx.

From the symptoms everyone is expressing here, this sounds like the opposite of what I need. If I take it a month and feel all this sh*t, I'm probably going to make the RN eat the package.

I had a three month long period. Essentially no one helped me, I had to treat it myself with a vitamin/supplement cocktail I mixed myself. I went through three months of what is being described here. If I have to tolerate that for another three months just to "see how it works" I may lose my mind.

I have anxiety. I have depression. If this amplifies that and my temper, like I said, I may make the RN eat the package. I'm low on E. I don't need something that's going to make those symptoms worse.

I've been on Chatela for about two weeks and my side effects are terrible! I have the worst headaches, bloating, gas, indigestion, and my breast are always sore. I'm really debating to just get off this pill and feel normal again. Im really in tune with my body and this BC is not working.
