I've been taking stool softeners for years (probably like 8) and I was getting hip and lower back pain and thought it was the ovarian cyst but I noticed when I missed a dose of my stool softener I felt better so I stopped taking it and the years of pain are gone. Perhaps my body changed and I didn't need the stool softeners any more as I'm fine and bowels are moving. I can't believe this was so simple I was crippled with this pain and now it's just gone fully in 2 days.

The mineral Magnesium is worth it's weight in gold......our muscles love it plus it is one of nature's gentle laxatives. I read about it in an article whereas 800 mg nightly assist our bodies in relaxing sleep and in addition to that it gently helps to move the bowels the next morning. Your particular dosage may need to need to be adjusted. Because a side affect of a couple of my prescriptions is constipation, I needed for achy hips and buttock pain. Magnesium 1000 mg nightly works for me.

The mineral Magnesium HELPS not only sore achy muscles, it prevents constipation that many prescriptions contribute too. It can be purchased at any drug store in the vitamin section. Most Naturapathic Doctors recommend 800 mg nightly. I was having achy painful hips and buttock pain so severe that I couldn't hardly walk. The magnesium pills keeps the pain away!

This reminds me of my issues. I am 39 & have been having excruciating pain off and on for 6 yrs now. Its in the lower left front and u have had my left ovary removed cause dr said it was long and twisted. Well, it seemed to help the pain for awhile, but now it is back full force! When I haveam gas or a bowel movement it gives me relief. If I cant use the restroom, I have to take my fist and put pressure in the areamorning for 10 min or more. If a heating pad is available, it stops the pain immediately. I sleep with heating pad. I am scared I will get fired cause i keep leaving work because of this. Its worse than my labor pains!! I honestly have never felt this much pain in my life! II feel a knot ball up in the area like a spasm. It seems to hurt less when I dont eat, but cant starve myself! I am unable to do anything outside if my home due to this pain. I have two kids and I need to fix this. I also get very nauseas. I have no health insurance to go to gastro dr. I cant live like this. Got to get help!

My stomach has been killing me for months & I've just noticed that for the past couple of weeks, my tailbone hurts when lying in bed. I've had a colonoscopy & gall bladder surgery last year. Can it be connected?

There is pain above the rectum, in the tailbone, causing much pain when sitting. What can this be and how can it be treated? What type of doctor can find out what the problem is?

I just stumbled upon this and thought I would share. I have a long story but to keep it short, Feb 2020 I was rearended, suffered SI joint sprains and a torn left labrum. 4 months later ince I was active, horrific tailbone pain, pelvic pain, pencil thin stools. They wanted to run all the gI tests on me and I said no because I could tell it was my muscles. I went to a pelvic floor therapist which helped some. Two years later and my third pelvic PT later, I was sent to an orthopedist. Turns out I have bilateral hip dysplasia. With this, pelvic dysfunction also occurs as well as hidden inguinal hernias. Docs are often trained they mostly occur in men, but that is not true with hip dysplasia. They are the trifecta of friends. In two weeks I am having my first total hip replacement to start the process of having stable hips for the first time in my life. Just some food for thought because I can relate to a lot of these posts, in addition to getting few to no answers from several professionals.
