Hi Gang! It has been 4 1/2 years now that I have been dealing with this Effexor garbage. I had those electrical shootings, extreme pain in my limbs, numbing, eye site probs...etc..... Not to mention needing to have someone me-sit with me while I went through these horrific symptoms of withdrawal. These things just don't go away. I too can't find any recourse. I am unable to work do to this problem, and it making me unable to be reliable as an employee. I have now developed Tourettes Syndrome, having gurgling sounds in my brain, the pains in certain areas of my brain are redeveloping again after they laid dormat for a while. The ringing in the ears is annoying to say the least. Shall I go on??? I am angry, very angry. I had only started to take this drug for mild to medium depression. I was a seasonal depression partaker..... Anyway, if you all find something that will start this Class Action Suit up... I am in.....

I have been suffering the effects from the brain shivers ever since I took effexor. I have been off of it over 5 years and still suffer the debilitating effects. There must be something we can do!!

I really agee! I am really getting tired of this. I was also taking Atepix too... A diet pill. I believe I spelled it wrong. But, both of these drugs are dangerous. I wish you well.... and maybe someone will start to listen to us.

This is the law firm that filed the multi-jurisdictional Cymbalta law suits last year - Baum Hedlund Law
I don't know how they came out except that in a Los Angeles trial, the jury sided with the drugmaker which asserted that the warnings were adequate. That's the hurdle--the warnings.

It says the judge denied a motion for summary judgement

So you are saying. We really need to get on the bandwagon and start alerting people of the dangers of some of these drugs. It is up to them to read all the pamphlets they receive with them in detail. Not trust the doctors because they don't know everything, because it isn't humanly possible. Thank you for writing to me. I still have my pamphlets from years ago. I am going to read them. I know just recently as of 2014. I have read notices on the medical sites that Effexor is now registered as being a more serious drug and should be used with caution. Same goes with the Atepix.

I think we have to help the law firms prepare better cases by describing in jury-friendly terms just how much worse and more serious the side effects and discontinuation effects are. I wondered why Baum and Hedlund chose Cymbalta anyway. Effexor is said to be worse. I can't find it right now, but I'll try to find the little bit of trial coverage i read. I thought the testimony was weak, and I was rooting for the patient.

I also must re-find this law blog where defense attorneys for drug makers converse in the comments. Very educational for plaintiffs!

And yes, warn and warn and warn.
