I have been struggling with outbreak anger rages that lasted a short time then I would be fine, insomnia, night sweats, compulsive disorders, electric charges thinking my cellphone was vibrating only to find I did not have cell phone near body, and etc. a coworker just told me I needed to get off Effexor now due to how harmful it is. I have had sucudal thought and how to euthanize my two labs who are my best friends. I am currently in withdrawal and I am so sad to see how long withdrawals can last. I want this out if my body now. I will join class action

Not sure where to reply to this...but I was on Effexor and weaned off many years ago. I still get brain snaps and I never had any kind of sugar or alcohol cravings prior to being on Effexor however my life is now a scattered mess b/c of the side effects that no one tells you about.....My current psych calls it side-effexor...and that is from an MD says a lot eh

Let me know also about a lawsuit. I would never have started it if I knew the withdrawls would be so bad, for so long and ruining my life. Not to mention side effects while on it.
If the Company can't help with withdrawals, why should they be allowed to sell it?????

I see your post is from a year ago, and I certainly hope you have beat this awful drug. I am trying to discontinue this drug and it is just horrible. I am seriously thinking about talking to my attorney about this drug. I have only taken it since Feb 2016, and at a dose of 75mg. I only chose to discontinue because of severe heat intolerance and sweating. Wow am I thankful for that side effect. I shutter to think what it would take to get off this stuff if I had taken it for years!!

Me too!!!! I can't get off of effexor velaflaxne it's generic version! I get major brain zaps that make me almost bed ridden. Know matter how slow I take down or add in another antidepressant. It been 10 years of no life. I just want my life back

It's been nearly 5 years now for me. I am still dealing with the after effects. What is even more upsetting is people just don't understand that a drug can do this to an adult. Why is it that scientist will admit to this drug doing harm to unborn babies but not adults?

10 months and still withdrawls! I sound like many others on here so I won't repeat. I've been told by pharmacy it can take 1 year or more.

Every single psychiatrist who prescribes ANY kind altering drug should be required to take them for a period of at least one more th and then go off cold turkey. That would shut down their malignant denial in a hurry.
