I am 23 years old and am not on any birth control. For the past 3 months I have been bleeding nearly everyday. It's not heavy like a period, but it's enough to wear a kotex or light tampon. I feel fatigued nearly all day and that isn't like me at all. I'm afraid to go to the doctor and find out something is really wrong, or just get pills shoved down my throat. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

I am 20 years old and am having the exact same problem. For the past three months, I have been bleeding everyday. It is not heavy, but enough to be irritating and worrisome. Before this bout of bleeding, I went to the gynocologist after bleeding for a month. She put me on birth control pills, but the problem only seems to have gotten worse. Around two weeks ago, I became very dizzy and the ever present fatigue became debilitating. I am on iron supplements and B-12, but am still experiencing fatigue. If anyone has any idea of what this could be, a response would be greatly appreciated.

I Have had te exact same thing happen to me however i have been on the pill and still bleeding everyday and along with that i was suffering form acute pain in my lower stomach was on pain relief injection every week.

I went to the dctors and he gave me antibiotics saying he thinks i have an infection somewhere in my pelvis however this didnt help and he sent me to hosppital for a US Pelvis Ultrasound

Which im awaiting results for!! You know what the nhs is like!!!

Il keep you posted on what happens.

And my opinion is that if you keep going to your doctors they will get fed up hearing about the same problem and do something about it for example a hospital appt

So dont be scared and go to your doctors and keep going till its sorted thats what their there for !!!!

I can sympathize. I have been bleeding pretty much non stop since I had a baby 5 months ago. I am 23, in good health otherwise and have a good diet. I am not on birth control. The only medication I take is a thyroid hormone and I have just had that checked, it is not the problem. The bleeding is every day, but not all day. Its usually very light, on and off all day. Sometimes it is dark, old blood and sometimes it is bright red. I had a pevlic exam and pap just last week and everything came back normal. I have mild lower abdominal cramping, particularly on the left side.

I have spent all night researching online to find out what this could possibly be. All I could find was a bunch of other girls going through the same thing, having no clue what the problem is! All have said tests have come back normal and doctors couldn't find a reason for this to be happinging. Some think it is due to stress, but I don't know that I believe that. I am not a very high stress person.

One thing I found and thought MIGHT be a possibility is perhaps a piece of tampon or something got stuck up there and is causing mild irritation? I read that possibility somewhere, but wouldn't it eventually come out?

Any other thoughts? Any ideas at all!? Anyone??

I have bleeding forever, about 10 years now. In the beginning it was very heavy for 10-15 days straight. Now for the past 8 years or so it is 7 days of heavy and 20 days of light bleeding. With only 3 or 4 days with none. After having a slew of tests. They found nothing. Finally They decided that i have a VERY SEVERE case of Von Wiliebrands. A bleeding disorder that 2% of people have.

If i were you ladies id have blood work done to see if you have it too. The bad news is..they have no cure. They try to treat the bleeding with birth control...In my case it does no good. :-( I am 22 so they refuse to shock my uterus or give me a hysterectomy.

I'm having the same problem since two months, I'm on thyroid hormone too, but I have had this before. My menstruation is constantly messed up. The gynecologist prescribed me last time progesterone and a vitamin that is anti-bleeding, helps to strengthen blood vessels. Actually, this combo helped me... but my cycle got messed up again, according to my thyroid doctor, it was because I went to jog, and with such problems I should know, that my hormone system is easily taken out of balance and that high bpm sports are a stress for my body and mess up my hormone system. Hm... this doctor is a high-ranking professor in our medical university... so maybe .. 8-|

I have the same issue. I bleed everyday, some days it's more like spotting, others heavier but not in a routine. I had a blood test for endometriosis which thankfully was negative however in a physical exam she found a lump/cyst she thought to be caused by a hormonal imbalance caused by taking dianette for 2 years. However, she said this would stop in a month or two, it's now been 15 months and every doctor I tell this to does not sound convinced at all, but neither do they seem phased I've been bleeding for a year or by my fatigue/inability to sleep when I feel fatigued, or by the sharp pains I sometimes get. My sister is a newly qualified nurse in gynaecology and insists I ask for a referral. Hopefully this does happen and perhaps asking for a referral is an option for anyone with this problem.

My wife has the same problem, do you still have your problem or did you go to a doctor and gave you a treatment. Every one on your topic has similar problems but there is no answer. Could you please write me back.

A friend of mine, now 74, is having a similar problem. Vaginal bleeding and fatigue, occasional dizziness. No pain.

If anyone comes up with an explanation, please post here!

I had a miscarrage in August and after that once I was finished passing everything after a couple days I did not bleed a week or so later I started what I thought was a normal period but now I have been bleeding for 25 days most of the time it is very light sometimes it's very dark and sometimes it's heavy . I've been keeping track as I assume that's what the dr will tell me to do either that or take birth control . But I am trying to conceive again if I can stop bleeding long enough . In the last 25 days I've stopped bleeding twice but both times I stopped after I had intercourse it kick starts it back up . Ugh what is this !!!!!

With respect to my previous reply, regarding my 74 year old friend, she has since been diagnosed with (not too advanced) uterine cancer, and did a 6 months radiotherapy to try and get rid of it.
