I've been having abdominal cramps, pains, diahrrea, naussea, and a general discomfort in stomach for the past 6 weeks or so. It seems to have gotten better over the last 2 weeks, but still makes an appearance every few days.

I had all of the major tests: colonoscopy, ctscan, ultrasound, stool samples, blood work...and all came back negative. I went to a different doctor this week because I was getting frustrated with my other guy. He ran blood tests but he told me he was going to look specifically for 6 or 7 abdominal virsues that could cause this.

Anyway, my tests came back that I have antibodies for the coxsackie B virus. He said that this does not mean that I actually have the virus, but that I have been exposed to it, and it is possible that that is my problem.

My question is, has anybody ever had this virus? He said that there is no real medicine to treat it and that it will just work itself out of my system. He said it usually takes a few months.

Just curious if anyone has had experience with this...

I too was just informed that I have or have been exposed to the coxsackie b virus. I am also 29 weeks pregnant. Did anything ever come of your symptoms or did you ever hear anything more from your doctor. My doctor has talked to a slew of other doctors and really has not much to tell me at this point. I have been doing a lot of reading on the internet but it is hard to know what to do when they can't even tell me if I am infected now or just have been exposed. Any feedback would be great!

I had coxsackie B for over four months. It felt like my heart was congested, and I had extreme pressure in my bronchial tubes and chest. I couldn't take deep breaths. It was the most awful thing ever. After going to several doctors and getting several misdiagnoses (laryngitis, acid reflux), I went the alternative health route. They were not only able to figure out what I had, but treat the virus - something that the regular MD route isn't able to do. They treated it with several things, one of the most effective methods being a TENS machine. It's generally used for physical therapy purposes, where a couple of stims are put on your body and it massages out tight muscles, etc; however, if a TENS machine is set to certain frequencies, it can match the frequency of the virus and kick it out of your system. It's non-invasive - it just requires sitting in a chair and having a couple stims massage your body for about 90 minutes :-) - and works pretty quickly. I'd highly recommend giving it a try. Good luck!
