Hi everyone,

I'm 18 and I have a boyfriend who I have been dating for 20months now and I was just wondering what time do u think is appropriate as a curfew for an 18yr old when with their partner on a Friday or Saturday night?

I ask this because my dad is really questioning when it comes to what time my curfew should be on a Friday and Saturday night when i go out with my fella.

Hi honey! It is now 12:05 and my almost 18year old is now 5 minutes past his curfew! So NOT too happy right now! ;-) But I think on the weekend 12 maximum and IF there is a special event etc, about 1! Hope this helps!

Although I didn't and still don't agree with it, back during the Vietnam conflict the liberals in this fine country changed the age of majority from 21 to 18. So at the age of 18 a person is legally an adult and no longer subject to parental rules. That would indicate that an 18 year old can legally come and go as they please.

However if you live in someone elses house and eat their food you do have some obligation to abide by their wishes. The owner of the place does get to make the rules.

When my son came home from the army, I informed him that my house is a no smoking zone, and alcohol free. For the first year or so he spent his evenings sitting in his car in the back yard with a six pack and his cigarettes. After he found Bill W. he still went out on the porch to smoke. I felt kind of bad for him standing out there when it was 10 below zero, but I wasn't forcing him to smoke. When his girl came over, I didn't feel I had anything to say about what they were doing in his room as long as it wasn't illegal or damaging my property, so I never made any rules about boinking. I figured the neighbors might complain if they were doing it on the porch or in the back yard. :-D
