i think after time your body/brain adjusts somewhat-as for me after several months on 45mg it has gotten better.
the mental aspect of thinking your maybe trading sex for pain relief is quite daunting-that got me down for a few weeks until i strung together a few orgasms and got some confidence back

Hi ! I m a woman, so no ejaculation issues, but I ve experienced anorgasmia (not being able to achieve orgasms) with many different ADs, since I ve been on them on and off since quite a few years now. When I don t take AD's I have a great sex drive and it s quite easy for me to achieve orgasms. I never tried Cymbalta. But I ve been on Paxil, Celexa, Wellbutrin, Effexor and Pristiq. Decreased sex drive with all and anorgasmia with all. But on the last one, Pristiq, I discovered that when I skip a day in the morning, at night and the next morning my sex drive is back and it,s quite easy to achieve orgasms. My psych said it s ok to skip once or twice a week, so that s my trick. It that can help anyone. I know most AD s take 3 to 4 weeks before the effects kicks in, and Pristiq takes less than that, about 1 week, so maybe that s why the side effects goes away more quickly, when I remembered when I took Paxil, and stoped taking it, my sex drive was back only 1 or 2 weeks later.

100% Agree. I'm a young fit man and always UP for the occasion but no finish has plagued both me and my partner. Love the anti-depression and pain mgt but can't live with this side affect. Going to ask DR to change my meds unless there is a supplement to take to counter this adverse affect.

27 years old and taking 60mg for chronic myofascial pain. Same issue, sex drive way up... can't finish. Very frustrating for me and my wife. My doctor doesnt want to prescribe the cyproheptadine wants me to wait and see if it resolves itself. Guess he doesn't understand the frustration of running a marathon six times a week and never crossing the finishline.

I am a woman who is on cymbalta. Been on it about 2 months now. I can't orgasm. I can feel the need to, but I haven't been able to orgasm. My libido has gone way down as well. I am not sure which doctor to talk to about it either..my pcp, psychologist, psychiatrist..? I like the cymbalta because it doesn't have as bad side effects as other meds, so I am afraid they will want to change my meds. Any women here having the same issue?

Hi one of side effects of anti depressants is sexual dysfunction. I was taking fluoxetine for 3 years for severe pms but gp asked me to try cymbalta as i have me/cfs too. My sex drive died completely. So I've decided I've had enough so been off it for 1 week. The withdrawal is horrific. I can see why people just keep taking it. If you change meds arrange it soon and taper. Be prepared for some awful physical symptoms. My libido is already coming back, shame I feel like I've been thrown off a cliff! Take care x

I am very observant when it comes to new sensations and side effects in my body and I can honestly say that I have noticed a slight physical side effect and also a mental side effect while taking Duloxetine ( Cymbalta ).
Firstly I am no longer really interested in sex and do not masturbate anymore. I used to perhaps do it a few times a day or most days just once. Now I only masturbate when I really feel the need too or when I feel like I am going to bust lol.
Don't get me wrong I still sit in a cafe on a warm sunny day and feel a very strong attraction to look at girls in summer dresses or short skirts! ...but part of me thinks "nah, I have more important things to do, I am better than that" lol, so I am not letting girls distract me fully, although now and again I see a really really pretty girl and I JUST STARE ! lol.
The physical side effect I noticed is when I ejaculate. It feels very powerful, and I get this sensation from right the back of my scrotum. It is not too uncomfortable, but it almost make me feel like I will pee after ejaculating - I never have, and it isn't a problem.
To be honest, the benefits of this medication outweigh any complications I seem to encounter... which are none.

Just last night I found myself again in a similar situation - unbelievably long and pleasurable foreplay, rock hard and about to burst, yet unable to finish. I've been on anti depressants for almost 4 years, specifically on 60 mg Duloxetine almost 1 year now.
