I have been on dexamphetamine for 14 years. I am prescribed 30mg a day. I have been self diagnosing myself for 8 of these years now. If I feel the need I take all six tablets but try not to take them on days off to allow my body to have a break.
I am a chef who up until recently used to work 70-80 hrs a week. Dex were incredibly useful as I was able to multitask and remember things in the oven and on upcoming dockets. My memory is pretty bad and without dex, it's out of sight, out of mind.
Side effects are for myself, I don't know about anyone else constant tremor in my hands but I have learnt to live with it including speeding up my knife skills. Slight insomnia but only when the dex are taken to late in the afternoon. I recommend if you go on dex to limit stimulants such as caffeine and stay away from redbull, V, etc energy drinks.

Hiya, my son has been on dexamphetamine for a while and has now got serious tics because of the medication. Today i have been advised to stop giving him them completely so i know it is safe to do so. hope this helps, jaime

My son now 21, at the age of 9 diagnosed of ADHD and they wanted him on medication ,I refused, but i had a second opinion which lead to him being dyslexic .It is well worth the second opinions as my son ended up not on medication but with colored irlen lenses for his reading headaches etc ,it also came to help with his behavior as well . I'm not saying the diagnoses is wrong but they are all to quick to diagnose ADHD and to medicate, before diet and the overall life of the child.Cheers.
Myself years later have been diagnosed with Narcolepsy and have been described dex but i am trying also to find out long term effects and other natural meds to help me.
