My dad has been diagnosed with golf ball sized tumor in his lungs, more accurately in his upper left right lobe. He is scheduled for surgery at the end of May, and then they will also do the biopsy on the tumor to see if it is cancerous. The only symptoms dad is having so far are very big difficulties with breathing and constant dry cough - it’s clear that the tumor is causing that, but what worries me that the tumor is cancerous and that he’ll have to have the whole left side of his lungs removed.

How does someone live with one lung? And if it turns out it’s cancer, how big are the chances that it will be treatable with chemotherapy or radiation?
