Im 13 years old and I havent gotten my period yet. Yesterday I was going to go to the bathroom and found a streak of brown in my underwear where my vagina is. :O I didnt know if it was my period or not so I put in another pantiliner and waited till today but now I have light brown/white discharge again. Could this have been my period or is my body telling me my period is coming soon. If it is coming soon, how soon? Thanks!!!:-|

Hi there

I know how exciting this can be :D becoming a woman :D  it seems as though your body is telling you that your period will start soon. but usually a period is very sudden. but because of the blood and brownish discharge your describing it may be something else, if you experience soreness, itchiness, swelling or no period at all. it would be worth just seeing a doctor to make sure there is nothing else wrong that you may be unaware of... But hopefully and by the sounds of it you should have your period soon :D i cant tell you how long it will take, every girl is different. If you experience tummy cramps and fatigue this is normal to period cramps and feeling exhausted.

Best Wishes :D !! if you have any other questions just ask :)

How do I know when my first period is coming? I've had bad cramps and this white gunk gets on my panties. Is that it?

The "White gunk" is discharge it usually starts happening about a year before you start your period but is can also start up to 3 years before! So, no it does not seem that you have started your period just yet.

And sometimes you have signs that you'll start your period but there it no way to know the exact day. One main sign can be that the " White gunk"/discharge can turn a brownish color a few days before your period, but that could also be something else medically too.
