Ok, so I'm going to turn 13 in a few months, and I think for the past few months, I have been noticing something. I've read articles about this, kind of assuring me that it was normal. Any way what I'm talking about is a clears, sort of, elastic/strecthy discharge. I haven't even started my period. I've been sick lately and wondering if it is just mucus that drains down my throat. Is this telling me that I'm close to getting my period? I mean, my back is sore sometimes, and I've been getting cramps. It's all getting closer together it seems. Any way, is it normal?

Hello, Just to let you know my daughter is 12 and she has the same thing going on. We have been to the Dr twice about it. First they thought it may be yeast, then they ran some tests, all was normal. they put her on antibiotics, just to see if it would help clear it up. Still has the same discharge today. This has been going on for about 4 months now, and continues each day. No smell, no itching, just bothers her being wet all the time, she does wear a liner, but its just annoying. Well, I believe this is normal for the both of you. At least i hope you feel better knowing you are not alone :-D ...By the way have you taken the Gardisil shots to protect against Cervical cancer. I'm only asking because, her discharge didn't start until after she had this round of shots....

Erin_97 This is nothing to worry about and something EVERY women experiences okay? Its just normal discharge, it is a sign your period will being soon. It happens when we ovulate and its also the bodys natural way of cleaning out the vagina. So nothing to worry about :-D But use a pantiliner to avoid wet undies, and to make you feel more comfortable. And start carrying a pad around with you incase you period starts, then you'll be prepared.
