I am almost 4mths. post partum, via a c-section. This was my 5th child, but my only c-section. I missed my 6 week checkup, and I am having some abnormal discharge. It has a strong odor, not real fishy, but like a fleshy smell. Sometimes it is clear, sometimes white and thick, and sometimes a pinkish color. I have never experienced anything like it, and I know it is not a yeast infection. I have no burning, itching, or problems urinating or with sexual activity. I have used douches, I bathe 2ce daily. I also had my tubes tied at the same time (don't know if related ) but just wondering if anybody else has experienced anything like this. I called the doctor's office a month or so ago and the nurse told me to expect discharge for 6 mths???? Never had that with the vaginal deliveries. I am confused.

Hi shona, I am not too sure what the cause is but I think that we can safely rule out the c-section as that would not cause a discharge like you are describing. It is probably related to having your tubes tied instead, and so I think you will want to talk to your doctor (as in, actually go in instead of just talking to the nurse on the phone...phone diagnoses worry me) about it just to make sure that you're okay. I was wondering what did the dr. say it was? I have 3 children my last was born via csection and I also got fixed while under. My daughter is now 7 months old and I have been having an odor ever since I was a few weeks post csection.I also have painful tenderness where they cut me and I have been gaining weight as well.So tonight I had to use the bathroom and I have my monthly issue and I had cramps so I went to the bathroom and when I wiped my bottom there was a fleshy colored mucus on the tp. so I stood up and in my bowel movement there was a whole bunch of this flesh colored mucus around the poop and floating so I wiped again making sure it didnt come from my vagina and it was coming from my bottom.I have never had these problems with any of my normal pregnacies only after the csection and being fixed and the same with this odor and it is coming from way inside my body not from the vagina. Oh I hope someone can help me I am 33 I hope this isnt serious.Also I have been gaining a lot of weight since my daughters birth which is also very odd because it seems like I dont eat enought to gain weight. Help me figure this out please... thanks in advance!!!
