I thought it was weird when I was a kid my mouth would water whenever I smelled dial gold and Irish spring soap. I started tasting them recently. I take little knife and scrape a small amount of the soap off and put it on my tongue. My mouth starts burning if I eat too much.

I didn't know this thing had a name. I've always thought soap smelled good enough to eat (hehe! weird I know). I like to lick the soap bar and rinse my mouth out, sometimes I'll bite off a small piece but that can be painful. I've also been buying natural chalk and clay off Etsy and eating those; love how crunchy they are. I put my soap and clay in a Tupperware containers together so they'll have the flavor of Irish spring and coast ( my favorite soaps

Nice to meet fellow pica sufferers! I've tried a lot of different brands over the years but coast is my favorite. I love both the original coast soap and the new green aloe one. My soap cravings really kick in when I'm stressed or it's that time of the month.

I've always loved the scent of Irish to the point of craving it (I keep a bar under my pillow to sniff it :p). Then one day I ran my fingernail on the bar and tasted it...loved it. I've been hooked ever since. It has to be the green Irish spring. Thanks to watching pica videos on youtube I've also gotten into cornstarch, clay and chalk. I store my soap with my other pica indulgences to get the scent. Gonna get my iron checked because I know this stuff isn't meant to be eaten.

Irish spring was my gateway drug :P. Then like you I started to enjoy the taste of other soaps. I started using body wash b/c it doesn't appeal to me the way bar soap does.
