I am facing a second stapendectomy since the first prosethesis has dislodged. First implant never delivered the projected hearing improvement and recovery was long with vertigo and extreme sensitivity to background noise.
Would like input from others on their experience to help determine if I should do this a second time.

I have had 4 Stapendectomys in the last 16 years. Mine keep dislodging. The first one was not very good and only lasted 2 years. The second one 3 years and the third one 3 years. This last one was the most effective and have been very pleased with it. However I became very nauseated and had severe vertigo. This was 5 years ago but just this week I believe it came off again. I blew my nose very hard and have not been able to hear since. I am going to the Dr. Monday and will decide if I should do it a 5th time or just get a hearing aid.
