I took out 1 bead a day and had no side effects. I had a naturopathic dr. help me when I got towards the end because the anxiety got bad. She gave me some "remedies" for depression and anxiety and I am still using them....they are very reasonble $15.00 each. I can give you her website if you would like...she can do phone consultations if you are not in her area. _[removed]_

Hi Effexorjunkie,

Please see Michael Fearon's email above mine. He is the one forming the class action suit. He needs to know what state or province you live in. Let us know that information so he may pursue this case.

Thanks,

Terry

There is a way to get off of this. I was able to do it by removing 1 bead a day. Please contact me on this site.

Hey,

I know that these posts were written a while ago, but I've been on effexor for a couple of months now and Ive felt my moods worsen so I decided to find out what I can on the internet. It's kind of scary hearing about what all of you have been through, and I'm wondering whether those symptoms always end like that? I'm 19 and last year I started my law degree last year, but this year when I started effexor I havnt managed to complete anything and find it difficult to remain focused on anything for very long.. Paranoia, hysteria and social awkwardness are becoming increasingly evident, is that how all of you started?

Hi,

After being on this for 12 years, I was able to get off of it and use more natural things though a natural dr. I am usiing natural things for depression and anxiety, which are working. I would never get on this again. It is very difficult to get off of, but removing 1 bead a day and getting something natural as you get closer to getting off really worked.

If you can find a natural dr., I would highly recommend it. What area do you live in? I know of a few in my area. All I know is I am so glad to be off of this drug. If you have any other questions, let me know.

I have been taking Effexor 100mg/daily for well over 10 years. I have tried to wean off of this drug even with doctors for years, and the withdrawal symptoms are excruciating. I have suffered, my children suffered, family has suffered worried about me, I have lost jobs [not from depression] but from trying to withdrawal from this drug with no success.

The drug specifics (the paper that comes with the drug that specifies the side affects, etc.) does NOT mention how difficult it would be to withdrawal from this medication.

I am madder than ****! My doctor never told me how difficult it would be to get off this drug ---- even being weened off for months!! I asked my doctor how do I get off this drug!?! Her response was, "you have to see a psychologist", baloney! The problem is not my depression, it's the withdrawal symptoms!! A psychologist isn't going to cure the feeling like I'm being "electrocuted" that last for months - to only give up and go back on this drug!

I have contacted an attorney and he thinks we possibly have a case here. I am forming a class action lawsuit, against the mfg. of Effexor - Wyeth Pharmaceutical.

I need as many people as possible to jump on this train with me. Please email me your name, address, telephone number and your withdrawal experiences. Please write to:********
I feel it is almost impossible to get off this drug. I need your help to fight back, because I feel it is all about money to get the public addicted to this drug.

Thank you, I appreciate your help.

I would also like to join the class action suit. This medicine has made me feel so bad. Even on it I felt as if I was tired all the time. No appetite, sick and aches. Horrible headaches. Felt tightness in chest and difficulty breathing. Now I am trying to slowly stop taking medicine. Migraine headaches in my neck and head. Can't stand the pain. Nausea, nightmares and hurting everywhere. This medicine is really bad. Trying to stop has intensified the ill feelings. Am not depressed at all. But so sick I have been in bed all day. Medicine is stealing my life from me. I can take it and feel mildly crapy all the time. Or try and stop taking it and go thru horrific withdrawals. I have only been on med for 5 months and it has changed my life for the worse. Did not know the side effects and that this drug would make you addicted to it. This medicine is hazard to health and should be removed by FDA. I went from having mild depression and stress from lost job, to feeling really awful from this medication.
