Effexor Class Action Lawsuit

My family and friends refuse to believe that this drug can cause effects almost 3 months after I came off it. They're all bothering me to go back to the doctor, the same doctors that caused my problems in the first place. I've had non stop diarrhea and a month and a half sinus infection. This pill just won't let go.

Please all of you follow Draytonsher layers in Sydney, there is a class action page, the first Class Action to go ahead if they get the crowd funding, will be for children 18 years and under. If that hopefully goes ahead then adults can apply later on. Look on facebook for Australian Class Action against antidepressant companies Unless enough people donate and support, this will not move forward and they need every ones help.

Any Canadian lawsuits? On it for 18 years. Liver problems. Can't get pregnant and can't get off!! Wish never existed. Gallbladder removed..boyfriend has to remove his too n he has liver problems too. What a mess. Every withdrawal symptoms mentioned above.

Help I have been on effexor for years, I have been weaning myself off , doctors gave me lowest dosage and I have been off now for a week and its terrible the withdraws I cant stand it , I would have never taken this drug if I knew that it was going to do this, I was given this for chronic pain in woman, dont ever take this drug, I would like to sue the pants off the drug company.

I am now off Effexor for 8 years. I still deal with protracted withdrawal, even after all this time. It is debilitating when it comes on. Heavy work or exercise, prolonged periods of stress, sauna, etc can bring it on. I combat this with Whey Protein Isolate, and branched chain aminos. I was lucky to find the company Truehope. They helped me wean off, while titriating up on the Empowerplus. I would like to see a class action for many reasons. It has cost me time from work, and a whole lot of hurt.

OK, after stopping this medication, I experienced the initial physical withdrawals (horrible). But, it has been months now and the long term consequences of discontinuiation continue. My brain simply does not function normally anymore. It is true, the drug did initially eased my systems of moderate depression with anxiety, but the price I paid was ... the loss of my soul. Now in an attempt to feel human again, I have to loose my mind? This is no joke.
I have even been told by mental health professionals (after my being on effexor for years) that once you start taking it, you can expect to be on it for life.
Do I think the manufacturers of Effector (and/its generic versions) know this, knew this, and continue to want this ... yes. Should they be held responsible ... yes. Should this drug be banned ... yes!

There are alternatives.

1st...you need to find a psych/doc that is familiar with the horrible repercussions of taking this drug. I do believe that it's more addictive then heroin. I was able to get off after being stuck on it for 7 years. It took me an additional 2 years to get it out of my system and find a medication that works. While tapering off Effexor my doctor piggy-backed it with Prozac to take the edge off the withdrawal symptoms.NOW, the job of finding med that might work. Tried the usual then I tried Wellbutrin and it made me evil butt did prevent me from being depressed so we tried Aplenzin and amen hallelujah it works! but don't do generic..because THEN you get Wellbutrin anyway. They're both considered Buprophen. HOWEVER, they have different "delivery system" into your bloodstream. And those of us who have been addicted to Effexor apparently need that bonding. Remember to TAPER OFF SLOW AND STEADY..if u try too fast, on the last week or so, when you plan to stop...you will inevitably start back taking it to relieve those "little brain shocks". You can email me if you need support and understanding. That drug shouldn't still be prescribed. I now believe in zombies.

I have been taking Venlafaxine for twelve years. The first 10 years were good for me but the last two have been pure hell.
I have never taken over 75 mg a day of this drug. When I had tried stopping with the advice of a physician it was impossible, I seriously thought I was losing my mind.
My head felt significantly impaired and the sobbing, uncontrollably, would not end, I also had "suicide" insomnia and could not sleep for over 4 months, more than an hour or two a day. I am back on this drug at 37.5 mg a day. I still do not feel like my prior self, and fear I never will.

I was able to get off this drug with horrifying side effects but I am left severely disabled and simply nobody cares.
Psychiatric drugs are crippling us for big $$$$,already failed drugs in other countries are introduced here as new.
The public knows nothing about people getting neither misdiagnosed or becoming severely crippled.
Get any help to get off this "medication" as soon as possible.
If you are lucky you might feel even some sexual desire again (maybe)...
It is also causing intracranial hypertension and swollen optic nerves and loss of vision.

I know exactly what you mean. I blew a hole in my foot on it. Like stigmata. I took pictures. And weird mystical things started happening. I have been clean and off of it for over 2 years, but I'm on disability now because of the mental scarring that isn't reversible.
