Wow I Am A NURSE too and have my license suspended, effexor has ruined my life. Maybe I'm not crazy like I've been thinking. I can't function if I don't take it, I want. To throw it in the garbage but I don't know if I can survive the withdrawl

Just stay on the lowest dosage possible. I never survived the withdrawal. It's the worst thing that has happened in my life. I will never be the same again.

Venlafaxine is so dangerous to come off of. I have tried several times to come off of it and every time fail due to the detoxing . I can't afford it and have been on it for years . I literally have to sell my things to pay for it when I don't have the money. I was never told about how bad the withdrawal symptoms were. Its insane. I again don't have the money to pay for it and have been off of it for about 7 days. I barely can stand to even get a shower, I am so nauses I can't keep down food. The brain shocks are intolerable. I feel as though it I don't give in and find a way of purchasing that I am gonna die. Why in the world would they ban all the other drugs and not this one. I just wish they had of never put me on it. How can the pharmaceutical companies even make something so bad. I was reading withdrawal is as bad as heroin withdrawal. God someone help me and the others who are trying to break this . A class action lawsuit needs to shut it down before others end up like me. I pray everyday that I don't do anything as anything I do causes this medication to make me sick. I don't wish this torture on anyone. My name is Karen W. God help us.

Karen, I'm praying for u. Now, go to the library and borrow The Mind Cure by Julia Ross. It will tell u what amino and vitamins to take to help u through this. This helped me TREMENDOUSLY. Also, I am almost 5 months off effexor. My pyhysical symptoms are gone but i feel a bit psycho sometimes because Once the physical withdrawal ends there are emotional ones that make u feel like u need meds again. Keep in mind it can take a year for your brain to be back to normal. Persevere. You can do it. I am praying for u Karen. U can do this.

I, too, am on 150mg Effexor XR...I have been wanting off this drug for 3yrs. I even wanted to get off it when I went to Rehab to get off all the other drugs prescribed by my VA doctors. I have been told that they won't hospitalize me to go thru the "just uncomfortable" withdrawal symptoms....I feel like I am falling into major psychosis issues and I don't want to increase my dose...from everything I read Effexor may be the cause of most the physical symptoms and some of the emotional and mental symptoms I feel like I am suffering thru...After reading other comments, I am scared to death to stop now. I would like in on any law suits.... Please!

After several years on effexor I began having serious issues. Asleep while awake. Regaining consciousness with fairly serious injuries. Broken tooth, broken nose, eye contusion. My terrible vision became crystal clear overnight. Severe aggression. Mania. Went to the ER. Was told to speak to my primary about aging and blood pressure. Sent home. 2 days later at my primarys office, he informed me I had no time as my blood pressure and pulse were alarming. Thats what he said, " we have no time ". I showed him some info I downloaded and we agreed, effexor was going to kill me. I needed to stop immediately. I wish I died. I'm still suffering horribly. I have siezures. Its been 9 months with little improvement.

I developed periodontal disease die to effexor. It doesn't say anywhere on the side effects that it causes this. I have had to have all of my teeth pulled and will be getting implants. My teeth were perfectly fine in June of this year. They started crumbling and falling out rapidly. I was told by my dentist that it was effexor that had caused it. He has had several patients with this problem from effector. Is there any class action suits against teeth for this problem??

YES ! Same thing. Ended up using 300mg daily 3 or 4 years ago. Yes, trying to get off this so called medication!
I really don't seem to have any choice except to commit suicide! PLEASE! Help me/us sue the Hell out of this company that produced this medication. I believe it was produced specifically to kill us/reduce the adult population of our world! Check out the medications the people were using prior to their suicides!
