your reaction is priceless and very helpful in indicating how useful squatting is. thank you!

I've been eating: fish, lots of olive oil, oatmeal, yogurt, brocolli, green beans, luna bars, whole grain spaghetti (barilla plus), green tea, and fiber one muffins. And 4-5 chewable fiber gummies each day. This has worked out really well; everything passes much easier than prior to the hemorrhoid removal.

I am 8 days post-op. Today is the first day the pain has been manageable. For the first few days I thought I would surely die. I passed out a few times from the pain. BMs were from hell. I found myself having to have bm in tub of warm water to try for some ounce of relief and even that left me shaking in pain. Been taking pain meds and muscle relaxers, stool softeners to ease bm. At first i was using miralax but that just made me go all the time which was awful. Stayed on a liquid diet and spent more time than not in the bathtub with water as hot as i could stand it. I still have a few bms a day and they scare the hell out of me each time. This has been the most painful experience I could ever imagine. .. any other place on my body that could have something go wrong and it had to be my a** hole... smh.

Miralax:
I found it to be way better than stool softener. The trick to Miralax for me is to NOT take the recommended dosage. I take 1/5 the dosage after each meal, and I have very soft stool without it making me want to go all the time. I recommend you trying it out a week before surgery and see what is the right dosage for you.
Enema needle trick:
So pre-OP I had to take milk of magnesia in the morning and Fleet enema at night. The problem is that the constant BM during that day had made my butt incredibly painful. So painful that it refuses to open even though my stomach was complaining that there's water in my bowel, especially after I used the enema. In desperation, I took the cap off the enema, remove the small value inside the cap, and now I'm left with the enema needle alone. I lube up the needle and inserted it as if I'm using the enema, except now I'm squatting above my toilet. Long behold, I was able to release all the liquid without dying in pain. The trick is to wiggle the cap around once inserted, so your bowl would go to work, otherwise you'll only release an ounce of water.
First day post OP the anesthesia was making me not able to release the gas. At night my stomach was growling and I needed relief. Once again I used the needle and got some gas out at the squad position. Once the needle is in, I got on the floor on a bowing position, wiggle my body back and forth, and long behold all my gas were released. Second day I was finally able to release gas on my own, thank god.
Bidet:
Get a portable bidet for $15 and use hot water to clean up after each BM. With or without hemmy problems, the bidet allows me to relax my rectum and let it close properly each time. A fancy electronic bidet cost $250 at Home Depot and it's worth every penny.
Hope this helps and good luck to all!
