I had an ablasion Dec 17/10 and have discharge every since I was told that this could last up to 6 weeks and was and still would be fine with that if that was the only problem. I started bleeding 3 days ago and thought ok no biggie it is my period and that it wouldn't be as bad. However I am beginning to wonder if it was worth the pain. I have been doing very little as my boyfriend is insistant that I take it easy and make sure I am fully recovered so I know it is not that I am over doing anything but the flow has increased even though it is not as bad as before the ablasion I am having to change my pad ever hour and half. Now I have been told in the past that if I am going through a pad more often then every 2 hours I should be going up to the ER. Has anyone else experienced this and if so does it get better after the 6 weeks am I just jumping the gun in thinking the ablasion was a big mistake and I should have insisted that they gave me a hysterectomy?

Thanks Jenn

Jenn: I had my ablasion done on Dec 14th, 2009. Similar things are happening here, I am hoping as you are that eventually everything should trickle away. Good lucK!

Well I seen the Dr on Monday and he says that it can take up to 3 months to see if it worked and is not willing to discuss any other treatment options at this stage of the game. I am beyond frustrated at this stage of the game it has been going on for 5 years finally found a Dr that was willing to try something, in all honesty I was willing to try ANYTHING at that stage of the game. The 1st ablasion I ended up with a punctured uterus so needed to heal for 6 weeks before they could try another type of ablasion. Now 2 months after the 2nd one still can not have intercourse with out spotting and when it is that time of the month I feel like there is something attached to my belly button from the inside that is being pulled so tight I can not stand up straight and hurts like a son of a gun and I am being told to wait until the 19 of April until I see the Dr again and then he might be willing to do YET ANOTHER ablasion "which should fix the problem". I swear if it was a man that was having these problems they would have fixed it 5 years ago.

I have been diagnosed with fibroids and an enlarged uterus. I get sharp intense pains around my menstrual cycle. My doctor suggested a hysterectomy or ablation. My question is does ablation take care of intramural fibroids?
