Have you heard of similar case before? If so, then by your experience on such cases (that is - ipill taken after period and before ovulation followed by no bleeding at all) when does period arrive?

Hello just curious question. I understand ipill delays or causes to skip ovulation. Assuming that ipill is taken on a day very close to ovulation, when egg has matured but not yet released. At this point if the ipill successfully prevents ovulation (release of egg), then what exactly happens to the matured unreleased egg?

All unreleased mature eggs die and get reabsorbed

kindly can you clarify. Die and reabsorb where? Hope it doesnt affect other healthy eggs? I am very worried i had ipill on day 8 of 26 day cycle and like many posters here have missed by period for 20 days. No bleeding too.

Reabsorbed into the body. It's what can happen if an egg is not fertilised. or it can get flushed out with the menstrual flow. A woman is born with about 300,000 eggs. At 30, only about 36,000 remain, and by 40, less than 10,000. Every month, 15-20 start to mature. Those that die do not affect those left.

Firstly want to thank you as you are doing huge favour by responding to everyone. My period delayed by 20 days (26 day is my cycle), ipill taken on day 8. No symptoms of ipill like bleeding, etc. Multiple UPTs done at 6th day post period miss are negative. Do i need to re do test?

Thank you. If you have tested 21 or more days after last sex, then the results should be reliable.

Does it depend on what time of day test is taken?

It is best taken with first-morning urine, as concentrations of hCG are highest.

Which day onwards can we trust test if taken any time of day.

If the test is taken at least 21 days after last sex, then the results should be reliable any time of the day. By then there should be sufficient levels of hCG. But try to avoid very dilute urine (after drinking a large amount of water)
