Usually the treatment for Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is hormone replacement therapy. But if this is not functioning then there are some alternative methods that might be helpful. The are natural extracts that are available and they contain thyroid hormone derived from the pigs. You have to know that pigs organs are similar to ours and there is nothing strange about having this hormone replacement. This research is still ongoing and doctors don’t prescribe this too often. You can mention this to your doctor and talk to him about possible implementation in your treatment.
Has he ever mentioned the surgery to be the option for your problem? Sometimes patients need to remove their thyroid.
