How long does Azithromycin take to cure chlamydia

I took my dose then waited seven days for it to be completely effective, as recommended by an article I found online. I tested again after the week and was all clear, so i'd say seven days!

I'm not sure if having sex during this period changes anything though, I abstained.

Hello, I have had this in the past and was also recently treated. The thing about the vagina is it is very warm and wet and not so good things can grow in there pretty eagoodThe vagina is self cleaning so right now it is basically filtering all of the yuck stuff as well as good stuff. Chlymedia is necissarily "cured" in one week. It really depends on how fast you as a person recover and how long the infection was present. The one week they tell you to restrain from sex is because you can still spread the infection during this time and you also need to let your body regulate the vaginas PH properly. So no fingera, no tampons, no nothing in this week. Even too much water can offset a balance. But again. Depends on the person. AFTER the week I would say its still normal to have syptoms such as iching, slight tenderness, and discharge. At this time bacteria is dead, but still present. Therefore the infection can no longer be passed on but dead bacteria cells are still being filtered. Some doctors say go back after 3 months from treatment due to false posatives because of dead bacteria screwing up tests. I personally wait about 4 weeks go get checked. 4 weeks is typically how long it takes for everything to clear. If it's another posative withing the 4 weeks I wait just in case because you DO NOT want to flush you body with heavy antibodic AGAIN if you do not need to. It's unatural and hard on the body. Also, your period will cause you PH to fall off balance during the cycle BUT after your PH will restet and a week or 2 after your period things should really go back to normal then. I have finished my week of treatment and still have terribly uncofortablr discharge that was worse than before. I think its just one of those things that gets worse to get better. Stay dry, i reccommend panty liners and changing them often. Warm showers at a fairly constant rate. Probiodics or vitamins can boost your immune system a little, encourging your ph to regulate. Drink lots of water - that helps detox the body in general. These things happen happen sometimes, take care of yourself and good luck!

How long does it take to be cured I took the antibiotics 19 days ago.

I got diagnosed with Chlamydia and Gonorrhea last month. Today I went to the clinoc to start my treatment. The clinician gave me 4 azithromycin pills and she gave me a shot. It was just a one day dose.

I tested positive for Chlamydia and Ghonorrhea. I took Azithromycin 500 mg tablets with a total of 4 pills. I took them April first and now it's been 9 day's. The bloating went down most of the way and now having a clear milky discharge. Kind of constipated a little still. Do you think I'll need to get more medication from my doctor?

Thank you for your story. I had it before as well and I was in denial until one day I just told myself to go get checked out. Thank God I made that step it could of stopped me from having babies. I'm negative for HIV and chlamydia and gonnerea and the other STDs. I ALWAYS use protection now. That almost cost me my life and I decided to get tested the first of every month and also have only ONE sex partner. It's safer. Be well guys and continue to get tested 1 time a month and one time a year for HIV.

I'm a male 27, I found out and then got major lower pain and needing to pee constantly, I took the two pills then the next day more lower pains , severe , hospital , so I got a needle plus 7 days doxy, I'm on like day three and still needing to pee every 20 sec , in hell .hopefully this is over soon

dont worry as long as you use condom or are careful to have unprotected sex with someone clean you will be good forever...
