This is quite simple. I've had it twice now as I am a very sexually active person. I've tried 2 a day, I've tried other treatments. The one that gave me the fastest result was to take 2000mg in one dosage. I was skeptical as I thought you could OD or something. Turns out it works pretty well. I will say this though, you will have an immediate bowel movement within about 20min. It will likely be two or three movements. But just give yourself a free hour after taking them. It'll clear you up in about two days. You'll notice relief in one day. Hope this helps you all out. Oh yeah, wrap your c**p! I'e learned my lesson the uncomfortable way. :P

i had found out that i got it about 2-3 weeks ago (end of may) and i went to the doctor very quick. I had gotten a shot in my ass cheek and given 4 pills. The next day all of the major symptoms (burning while urinating, yellow discharge...etc) had slowed down drastically. They say its 1 week but for me in two days all of the symptoms where GONE. Now for advice I haven't had sex yet even though all of my symptoms are gone but just to be on the safe side I have an upcoming doctors appointment to see if Im able to carry out my love life. WARNING though: If you do plan on having sex with a condom, I honestly would not recommend it because there is that 40% chance that the condom will rip and to save you the humiliation its better to be on the "SAFE SIDE." :]

First off it is completely wrong to "troll" a board such as this. So your comment of "seek psychological help" is completely unwarranted and unnecessary. Secondly, I personally practice safe sex with a partner for the first 3 months of a relationship. After which you should have a feel for the person (I suggest both  going together to be screened before any sexual encounters.) This was the case with my girlfriend, we both went to get screened and were both negative across the board. She contracted chlamydia from some sort of non sexual means (this happens more than people think, I am working on my masters in MicroBio Engineering, you would be surprised). Considering we had been dating for over six months, protection was out the window. It happens, and it is not your place to pass judgment on others for their habbits...

If the initial treatment does not neutralize the infection in the first week it is highly likely your body rejected the treatment. Just because the infection is gone does not mean signs disappear instantly. There is some minor damage to tissue that can be caused and everyone heals at their own rate. This tissue damage can leave "contagion like symptoms" even though you may not. If after the first week you are still unnerved, by all means, go again. Though follow up testing/treatment is rarely ever needed. (think it is 96-98% success rate currently). I would say wait 2 weeks past your initial treatment and if you still feel insecure re-test.

The best way to ensure treatment is effective. DO NOT eat starting roughly 12 hours in advance. DO NOT eat two hours after treatment. Shower responsibly, DO NOT wear the same clothing after a shower (would even go so far as to say wash clothes immediately. Do not re-use anything that could possibly have bodily fluid contact UNLESS it is sterilized or sanitized. DO NOT HAVE SEX FOR A FULL WEEK (and I am not talking a 5 day work week) Just that easy.

Seriously what is wrong with you to judge someone like that. I contracted mine from my HUSBAND. So I think I had every right to be having unprotected sex. Not my fault he's a dumb man w****.

I was recently contacted by a girl that I had previously had a casual relationship with. She told me that she had unfortunately been tested positive for Chlamydia. I was checked out yesterday and immediately prescribed 4 tablets of Azithromycin 250mg to be taken in one single dose. I have not yet been given my results and have had no symptoms. I had unprotected sex with this girl just the one time. It goes to show that just one time is one time too many. Stay protected every time and get checked guys and gals. It's your health, your life and you have to look after yourself!

I was diagnosed with this just a little bit ago and I can tell you it wasn't because I need psychological help. I use a condom regularly, get tested as usual and lead a generally healthy lifestyle. There is nothing psychologically wrong with me. Accidents happen. Shame on you for making people feel worse about themselves. Its already in the back of our head daily that we have somehow contracted this and what could have gone wrong.

Moral of the story: sh*t HAPPENS. No need to be rude and condescending to those of us unfortunate enough to have to jump a harder hurdle that others.
