Girly Mom thanks for your prayers. I bought Sarna Lotion as was suggested in another post for itching--and it did not burn, and it's good for about 2 hrs then has to be reapplied again. So I am able to sleep 2 hrs at a time but often when I wake up I can't get back to sleep right away. I went to the Dr today and he told me not to put anything on that area and not to scratch for 3 days and it will quit itching completely. One of his office staff said they'd love to see him go 3 days without scratching an itch. He is a very good Dr I just don't know if I can do that. He told me to come back again in a week. He wants to snip the skin tags, I'm not so sure I want him to do that. They don't bother me. I'm tired and worn out and don't want anymore snipping done on me. I am very glad that all the pain (except for the itching) is gone ! Finally 37 days after surgery there is no pain at all !!

PS: 37 days after surgery the Dr still does not want me to drive or ride in a car except to go to his office. I can understand why, while riding in a car it is still very uncomfortable, and I would know it if my husband ran over a leaf.

Please don't think I'm trying to know more than your doctor, but I have to question some of the things he's told you. 6 weeks after surgery and he doesn't want you to even ride in a car? My surgeon told me to get up and move around as much as I can without causing great pain. He even told me to be sure to drink a lot of water so I would be forced to walk to the bathroom often. I told him my daughter started preschool 8 days after my surgery and asked if I could drive her there. He said as long as I'm not taking the Vicodin I could drive whenever I want. The first time I drove I used one of those foam donut pillows to sit on and it was really uncomfortable but it still gave me a sense of normalcy.
However, just as we discussed every birth experience is different, every surgery is different as well. Different people's bodies heal differently and at different paces.
I was supposed to start my period the day after my surgery so I skipped the reminder pills and went straight to a new pack in order to skip my period. However, I ended up starting a week after my surgery. Only now it's really painful and weird since I'm in the middle of a pack of birth control pills. So I'm back on the Vicodin occasionally for my menstrual cramps. I swear having kids has made periods so much worse! Every month I feel like my cervix is going to fall out.
And I'm right there with you on the itching! All I want to do is take a q-tip and stick it up my butt to scratch it! I know that sounds so nasty and I won't do it because I don't want to pop any of the stitches. The only thing I've found that truly works is that Orajel maximum strength gel. The lotions don't work so well because they absorb into your skin too quickly (hence the every 2 hours thing.) But the gel doesn't absorb. It stays put and even better with one of those wound pads. The ones I like best are the Johnson & Johnson 2x3 non-stick pads. I put a bunch on my finger and rub it on and then put that pad right up against it. The 2x3 ones you can't feel as well as the 3x3.
My husband and I were joking tonight after I I took a shower that I am so jealous of that dog in the AT&T commercial where they're in a French motel and the little dog is scooting and rubbing his butt across the floor. Every time I watch it I go, "Oooohhhhhhh... that would feel so good right now."
Okay, it's bedtime for me. My Valium is kicking in.
I'm so glad that you're pain-free. I always consider the end results. When I had my first baby she wasn't latching on properly while nursing so I was cracked and bleeding and it was excruciating every time she nursed. So I told myself that the pain would stop after 6 weeks. And every day I just looked forward to that 6 week time. I refused to pump and she wanted to nurse every hour around the clock. Finally after 4 weeks the pain started to go away and was completely gone by 7 weeks. I think I purposely tell myself that it's going to be worse than it really will be so that I'm pleasantly surprised by the early results.
I had a check up the other day and as my surgeon was out of town I had to see another one and he said he was really surprised at how fast I'm healing considering how much work had been done to me.
All 3 of my internal hemorrhoids had been thrombosed so he had cut a lot internally and externally. I thought only one had been coming out but apparently not. That was just the MAJOR one and the others paled in comparison.
I hope your itching has stopped!

41 year old male, had what my doc said was pretty severe external hemorrhoids. Had the operation yesterday morning, decided to be put completely under instead of the spinal. Like most of you on this board, I came here weeks ago and read the real life horror stories from many of you, which had me panicking. Since a lot of the posters on this thread and others left out certain details such as what their diet consisted of before and after surgery, I decided that I would go for high fibre with liquids pre and post, so that I could take as easy as BM as possible after the operation.
I had been suffering on and off for years, with the bleeding and protusions after a rough flareup. Had to wear my wife's pads during these episodes. In fact wearing them became such second nature that I wouldn't even pretend I was buying them for her when I went shopping. I couldn't care less. I'm pretty certain I had the cleanest male underwear on the planet.
Leading up to the surgery yesterday, I had to give myself a Fleet enema the night before. Having never had one, nor being particularly intimate with that area - I decided that I needed to become one with this part of my body which had caused me so much pain and dread. I filled up the tub to a certain point, went into the ass up position and started fiddling around with my finger. But because I only had one bottle of the stuff - which ain't much by the way - I decided I needed to involve my wife into this circus act. So she came into the bathroom and gave me an enema, and if that ain't love, I'm not sure what is. The enema was fine. No problems whatsoever and the BM after it was quick and painless.
My surgery went without a hitch, although the small town hospital where I had it done left a lot to be desired. I asked the nurse if there was packing up me and she said she would phone the doc and we would all have to wait to find out. Whatever happened to having a look? Finally a nurse bent me over and said there was no packing, just gauze and removed it. She was the ONLY person to inspect me after the surgery. Pretty useless medical team in my opinion. They didn't even change the pad under me or give me a clean gown to put on.
I had virtually NO pain after the operation and was able to get up to urinate constantly throughout the day and night. I took one Tylenol 3 with codine at about 8pm. I stayed over night and the most pain I had was from the shitty bed they had me sleep in. If my worst flareup was a 10 on the pain scale, this post-operation pain is about a 2, if that. It's nothing compared to what I was suffering before.
I have had some gas and it was more of a relief than pain - it felt pretty good to fart, I have to say. I haven't had a BM yet and I do expect that to be uncomfortable, maybe even painful, but as mentioned, I'm not planning on being idiotic about it. Not sure how many people went right back to eating Ding Dongs, pizza and spicy chicken wings after, but I've been drinking lots of water, eating soup and crackers, some 100% whole wheat, Activia yogurt and using Benefibre.
I am walking around without any discomfort, I can sit with one leg curled under (I have a donut pillow but it's uncomfortable) and it's now been exactly 24 hours since the operation.
I just wanted to share my story and let some of you know that it's not all doom and gloom. While I may be premature in my "lack of pain", some people have been crippled right after the operation. Perhaps I am one of the lucky ones.
Maybe some of these people on here didn't have the excruciating pain that came with my flareups in the past. THAT was insane pain and in comparison this feels like nothing.
To all those who are about to go through with this, please remember that everyone is different. If you plan properly for it, go on a liquid diet and be sensible about what you put in your body before and after, it should make a difference in your recovery! Good luck!

As for riding in a car, and exercise, while I was in the hosp I bet I walked the halls every day adding up to about 4 miles a day. I did not stay in bed, I walked and walked and walked. I have always had a fear of passing a blood clot so I don't stay still, I move around. Walking does not hurt me, but riding in a car does. My Dr said do not sit on a donut, that it can cause more problems, I read on the internet that it indeed can. While at home after surgery I did not go to bed and stay there, I did chores around the house and have not missed cooking a meal for my husband since the day I came home from surgery. But the pain was there 24/7 untill the day it stopped after 37 days. I just woke up one morning and it was gone !
I was not on any special diet before surgery because I didn't have any time to plan a diet before surgery. I went to the Dr one day and then immediately right over to the hosp for pre op and registration. The next day I was at the hosp at 6 am for surgery. It was supposed to be day surgery but I ended up being admitted because I am a diabetic and have a tendency to get pneumonia after surgery which I did.
My hemorrhoids while painful were not near as painful as my anal fissure that came along with the hemorrhoids. I had no problem after surgery going to the bathroom to urinate. There was a lot of pressure when I would urinate and that was painful.
I did have packing and it was removed on the 3 rd day while I was in the hosp. I immediately started BM's after the packing was removed and they were not painful during passing but about 10 minutes after the BM severe pain set in and would last for hours. I could not control my bowels as I stated in a previous post. That lasted for about 2 1/2 weeks. And I was going to the potty several times a day.
Immediately after surgery I was put on a liquid diet the first day, but by day 2 they had me on a regular diet. I didn't feel like eating and only consumed an Ensure at breakfast and for the rest of the meals I only ate my sugar free jello and drank my glass of tea, drank lots of water and that was done the entire 5 days I was in the hosp.
I resumed the same diet for about 3 weeks after I got home from the hosp and I did lose a lot of weight during this time. I started eating a regular diet after the 3 weeks but it is a very lite diet, consisting of Ensure for breakfast, jello or / and sugar free applesauce or a bowl of vegetable soup for lunch and for my supper meal I eat either fish or chicken with spinach or mustard greens and green beans. For a snack I eat sugar free jello several times a day and drink tea or kool aid. I too drink lots of water. And as I stated in a previous post the Dr has me taking 2 Teaspoons of Mineral Oil every single day and told me I'd be doing this for a long time to come. He advised against me taking any kind of a laxative.
After trying everything for the itching, my husband found a cheap $2 tube of anti itch cream at the dollar store 2 days ago and by gosh it works. The $15 bottle of Sarna Lotion does not work near as good as the $2 tube of anti itch cream he bought at the $ store. I just looked on the tube and all it says is Family Dollar Anti- Itch. I am still taking 3 sitz baths a day. It feels so good I am not ready to give those up yet and my Dr has told me to continue those.
Moxxi -- I too had severe pain with my flareups. This has been a problem for me for the past 6 years. We all have different reactions to surgery and I think health, weight and age have a lot to do with the way the surgery will affect us and our recovery. And it doesn't hurt to have a good Dr. which I think mine is one of the best. I have been going to him for 20 yrs and he has done surgery on me several times but this recovery time and the pain that came with it has been something else. I am so happy to finally be pain free. I still feel some discomfort, but not near the pain I was in. After I came home from the hospital I did not take any pain medication at all, I did not want to run the risk of constipation that comes with it. Hydrocodone was prescribed for me and I have a full bottle sitting here that I never touched. I pray you continue to do well and that you have a very speedy recovery.

Thanks for your posts PainbeGone2 and Girlymom...I now have more experience under my belt since my last post, and here it is, warts and all.
As mentioned, my surgery was Thursday Aug 21, on Friday the next day I could have ran a marathon, but then shortly after my post, the pain from the anesthetic started kicking - to the point where I could barely get out of bed due to sore neck, stomach muscles, legs etc. Still the posterior was feeling tip top...and then I had my first BM Saturday. The BM itself was fine, the stools were soft, but near the end it felt as though I just wasn't done...but I couldn't even stand up as it felt half of my spine must have been hanging out. I finally got up and soon realized this felt EXACTLY as it had before the surgery. I became instantly crippled, wondering what happened to this wonderboy who was ready to take on the world 24 hours earlier. There was bleeding during the BM but I'm certain that is natural... how could it not be? There wasn't much bleeding after I got myself out of there and after a few minutes whatever pressure I had, went back up the pipe.
I cannot believe the immense relief a bath provides. I want to post a lifeguard at the tub so I can live, sleep and eat in there. I instantly feel crappy the moment my bum isn't submerged underwater. Sunday wasn't bad, but by evening I was feeling better. Then Monday brought another BM and while it wasn't more painful than the first, the end result was the same.... LUNCH SPOILERS AHEAD
I almost thought that I needed to get in there and dig for whatever wasn't coming out as the pressure was so incredibly intense and all I could think about was I was going to die like Elvis. I was trying not to strain and just to keep breathing and think happy thoughts, but it's pretty hard when it feels there's a steel-toed boot just scratching the surface. Thankfully I talked myself out of taking matters into my own "hand", and within a few minutes the pressure had subsided.
But then the sphincter spasms/clenching starts, and while I've had them in the past, these were not to be trifled with. It takes all my concentration to pee as it will just slam shut if every brain synapse isn't focused on keeping it preoccupied. Sometimes it will just do it on its own and it just cuts off the urine flow like I had snipped it with scissors. For the rest of the day I was crippled with the slams as well as the jimmy legs, as I had put so much pressure into my legs while sitting on the toilet, that they could no longer sit still on their own.
Immediately after my BM I took 2 Senokots (lax and softener) in my panic to just get things out of there...but I immediately regretted it. As my stomach instantly began percolating and I knew I wouldn't be able to handle another BM for at least a month or two. I also had to take my high blood pressure pill, which has a water pill...which makes me pee all the time, which means I have to play the "don't slam the back door!" game more often...but it also dehydrates me too. In somewhat unrelated news the nurse in the hospital asked me I'd been diagnosed with sleep apnea as she noticed I had stopped breathing frequently. I had told my doc about this a year or more ago as I wanted to find a cause for my high blood pressure but he brushed me off. Now it seems like it could be a good lead to follow.
Last night was absolutely terrible. Two baths helped momentarily while I was in there, but I could not get comfortable at all. I finally downed two Tylenol 3s with codeine which I didn't want to take, but had no choice. I finally settled on sleeping in the basement couch with my feet elevated to alleviate the pressure and that felt good...and then the edges of my pain were rounded off considerably when the T3s kicked in after awhile...I finally drifted off to sleep, but was awoken every 8 seconds (it seemed) with a backdoor slam. Man, that's unpleasant.
PainBeGone2, I am continuing to eat a healthy diet with soft foods and fibre, anything to be proactive in this recovery. I am trying to drink lots of fluids as well. My wife and kids are really incredibly helpful...and assisting me with everything required. I will take your advice if I start getting itchy down there... ugh.
It's sure helpful to have this board to post on...thanks for all of your advice (past, present and future) and I wish you all the best in your recoveries!!

Moxxi... You're very fortunate that you're a man with a very long urethra. The sitz baths were extremely helpful (taking care of 2 small girls made it very difficult to take an actual bath) but I got a bladder infection right away. That is not fun because it burns every time you go pee.
So I try to take lots of showers but it's just not the same thing.
I will say that I am extremely fortunate in my situation. I had 3 very large hemorrhoids removed, one stage IV, removed. It was 2 weeks yesterday since my surgery and I haven't been in any pain in a long time. I think I was in real pain for about 4 days and then felt great for 3 or 4 days after that and then had a REALLY bad day where it felt like the first few. Since then the only real discomfort I've felt is the occasional itching. All of the external stitches have dissolved. My bm's aren't painful at all anymore and there is only a tinge of bright red on the wipey when I've wiped too much. I only use preparatiion h wipes to wipe my bottom after a bm. But I've been doing that for over 4 years since I had my first baby. I even use them on my girls after they've had a bm. My little one just turned 2 and she's not potty trained, but she is poo poo trained so she poops on the toilet, which is glorious! So much easier to wipe poo off when it's not smeared all over her bottom.
Anyway, back on track.
I'm not golden yet, though. I have been suffering with de Quervaine's tendonitis for over 4 years now. (That's an excruciating condition where a tendon in your wrist near your thumb gets inflamed and can't pass through a sheath.) I've had 3 cortisone injections over the last 4 years and have been told surgery is my only other option. So July 11th, I had breast augmentation surgery (elective, I know, but still painful and I didn't know I'd be getting another one a month later!), complex hemorrhoidectomy on August 11th, and now it's looking like surgery on my wrist. All 3 would be from having babies! My dq is from holding my kids on my right arm all the time when I'm so small. (I have chubby babies!)
I saw my chiropractor today and he specializes in sports injuries and works the muscles more than he does any cracking. He says he can fix my wrist by manipulating the muscles around the tendon up my forearm. In the meantime, I have appts with 3 different orthopedic surgeons to get opinions.
(That's an excruciating condition where a tendon in your wrist near your thumb gets inflamed and can't pass through a sheath.) I've had 3 cortisone injections over the last 4 years and have been told surgery is my only other option. ahhh... i know that pinch/clench feeling oh so well moxxi. i am now 15 post surgery and that pinch/clench eventually lessens with every passing day. the bm's get less painful each day as well. but at first yeah, when i would be finishing my urination it is a natural reaction to pinch and man did i dread that!!! it would even happen in bed when i wasnt doing anything, i guess it is just a natural reaction of the body as well when healing. after about 11 days though that pain became tolerable and is now almost gone.
girlymom, seems we had surgery around the same time. do you still have swelling down there as if there were still a giant hemmorhoid still there? i do :-( it definitely doesnt feel like one to the touch. i can also walk normally after a bm unlike a hemmorhoid. i mean i can wipe it and touch it and put aloe on it with no problems whereas the former hemmorhoid was untouchable due to the pain. i am still out of work as i cannot sit for long periods of time still. are you the same way? i can walk all day long i just cant sit for too long.
moxxi the diet that worked for me the first week was 1/2 or full bowl of oat meal in the morning. porridge for lunch and dinner (little bits of chicken in it). i also had some pear for snacks when i felt like it. sux to eat the same thing for a week or two but if not, you will pay the price.
good luck everyone, i plan to go back to work on tuesday. 20 days after my surgery. i have a follow up with my doctor tomorrow so if i have answers to my own questions i will post them.

Girly Mom---- I hope this day finds you much better.
And the same for you Moxxi.
It has now been 6 weeks and 2 days since my surgery and I don't have any discomfort now as I did the last time I posted on 8-23-08. I am still on a diet as I mentioned in a previous post. I am afraid to eat any of my favorites like Mexican Food or hot sauce and chips. And I'm still taking the stiz baths and mineral oil. I went to the Dr Aug 28 for my 6 week check up and he told me to come back in 2 weeks so he still has not released me. It is still uncomfortable to ride in a car or sit in a chair for a long period of time, other than that I feel fine, BMs are fine, no pain there. I think the mineral oil is working wonders.
Guest---- best of luck to you, don't try to rush things or you will be back to have it done all over again, I have known that to happen to people I know.
Take care all, and good luck to you.
And the same for you Moxxi.

Sorry for the delay in writing but things got a little wild. First off, I'm sorry to hear GirlyMom is in pain with all of the other factors in your life (tendonitis) Sounds like you went for the total overhaul package this summer! I hope you get some relief soon with your hands! That has to be really tough trying to look after yourself and babies!
Remember that "Elvis" crack I made in my last post? Well, I was able to live it yesterday. I had a BM yesterday about 4:20pm. Nothing special, it was pretty good in fact, but I could tell there was a lot of liquid. Which turned out to be blood. No big deal, I had some bleeding before. Went upstairs to sit in the tub, and while the tub was filling up, I had to go again. Lots of blood this time. My wife thought we should call the doc, but I said no, I expect there to be blood, just want to have my bath. During the bath I had the urge to go again, and this time it was a blood bath (excuse the pun)...that's when I started to fade. I unlocked the bathroom door and told my wife to call 911 as I was fading fast. They actually put her on hold if you can believe it and she was pretty freaked out. We live in a small town and the hospital is literally one street over so the ambulance arrived quickly. My wife and daughter said that I had passed out on the toilet, leaning into the tub, color grey, tongue out, eyes wide open but nobody was home. I don't remember passing out, just the feeling I was going to. The paramedics kept telling me to stay with them, and I passed out again while they were there...luckily my wife was able to get some underwear on me before they arrived (at my request) so it wasn't a "full-on Elvis". They got me on the stretcher, took all my vitals and got me to the hospital quickly. I was 6 points away from having a transfusion and they kept me in the hospital overnight. The bleeding/hemorrhaging had stopped by this point. I was told I'm now anemic and have to take it pretty easy for the next couple of months. I certainly wasn't expecting this turn of events. Thank god she was home yesterday or the day could have ended much differently.
At this point, just resting in bed with the laptop, my wife is taking great care of me (it's her birthday today too and I couldn't even finish the birthday cake I started for yesterday, but my daughter took care of that for me). My mother in law has come to stay for a few days while my wife goes back to work tomorrow and I plan on not doing anything dumb.
Guest - I'm glad I'm not the only one who knows about that damn clenching...it's been fine today, but had a few wicked ones while lying in the hospital bed last night. Thank goodness for Tylenol 3's...now I have to take iron supplements, which I'm told can constipate...it's always something!
PainBeGone - sorry to hear you're still in pain riding in the car or sitting for long periods. I too find it uncomfortable. I guess time heals all wounds... I'm supposed to start back to work tomorrow (from home at least for a week or so) but due to my lack on energy now and the inability to sit for long periods, not sure how effective that will be. And I can't really do my job lying down in bed....although I could try for awhile.
All the best to all of you!! Sharing helps make the pain go away that much more...and it might make someone prepare for the bizarre things that can happen. I would never say not to have this operation, just remember that everyone is different.

Moxxi Oh My Gosh !! I am so glad to hear that you are OK! I too passed blood but only a little and only twice. And that was during the second week after my surgery. I don't think I ever mentioned it.
I too am anemic, but I don't take iron, been there done that, that is what started my problem. In fact right before I was to go into surgery after they had already started my IV Drip they came to me and told me they might have to call off the surgery because I was so enemic, something about not clotting. They ran more test to see if I could clot and it came back ok on that so they went on with my surgery.
I eat foods high in iron, that is why I eat so much spinach every day, the frozen kind, eventually I will add liver to my diet which I happened to like but I know it is gross to some people, and I will add shrimp and oysters. But I will be anemic for the rest of my life before I ever take iron !! Not after what I have been through. The foods with iron do not do me like the iron supplements do.
Take very good care of yourself Moxxi, and I hope we hear an update from Girly Mom soon. Being able to come here and share experiences has really helped me to get through this. Keep us posted Moxxi with updates of your progress.

Mark, the IRC treatment sounds awfully convenient. I hadn't heard of that before (I was told my surgeon's tool of choice would be the ligature scalpel. The care after surgery was so lackluster that they never gave me any information on what to do afterwards etc. Luckily the internet exists. It's too bad the mods blocked some of your info for whatever reason, but maybe someone in the US can contact you via email if they're interested. I'm in Canada so it's a whole different story, and my story is done. I hope.
It's now been just over 3 weeks since the operation and I haven't had any more hemorrhaging. My BMs have now become better than ever. I've relaxed on the stool softeners and laxatives and they are now solid. There is no pain...and I can finish up in about 6 minutes, compared to the 20-45 minutes it would take me before surgery. I have some slight leakage, some gas but I'm no longer thrown into fits of agony or clenching after a BM. I had one the other day, came up the stairs and showed my son I could actually jump into the air! He was amazed as he knows how crippled I usually am after going...so therefore my kids are excited about the recovery too. I feel great and have started getting back into my routine...slowly without overdoing it. I'm hoping that continues obviously.
PainbeGone2, I definitely hear you about the spinach. I'm a pill chewer (can't swallow them...) and while the iron pills aren't the worst tasting pill I've chewed, it's not pleasant either. Luckily I love spinach and will try to get my iron naturally going forward. I hope you are continuing to improve with everything, especially the anemia now.
All the best to all of you and keep posting about your recoveries as well.

Hi Everyone,
I have read this thread over and over again, before the surgery and since. It both terrifies and enlightens me.
I had my surgery this past Thursday, today is day 3 post op. Pain is more manageable with Advil than with the Vicodin..so I pretty much stick to that. Sitz baths are a god-send!! Had a low-grade fever the second day, but better now. My doctor has me on mineral oil, 2 tbsp in juice daily...no BM yet though, but no sensation of one either. I typically go 2-3 times per week anyway, and was cleaned out before the surgery...so this must be normal...right?
The rectal spasms are killers! Take me by total surprise...When will those end?
Wondering if I should add Epsom Salt to the water?
Thanks to all....

Hey "Guest!",
Welcome to the club! It's a pain in the ass to join, but membership is well worth it!
I too had a low grade fever 2 days after, maybe that's normal? Instead of sitz bath, I would go for full on baths to take all of the pressure off, so you just float in the water. Just don't make the water too hot. I thought of adding epsom salt, but never got around to it. Eat soup, jello, things with lots of fiber, keep yourself hydrated and keep taking stool softeners. None of the BM's actually hurt, but the hemorrhaging threw me for a loop (re: my earlier posts); I'm hoping that doesn't happen. Keep a phone near you in the bathroom if you live alone and no, I'm not kidding.
Oh man, I hear you about the rectal clenching. That does eventually stop, I think after week 1, maybe a bit longer. I had more due to the hemorrhaging but after that, nothing. In fact, I can't remember what one feels like...can you believe that? You too will not remember.
Yesterday was exactly a month since my surgery. My BMs take me about 6 minutes, compared to 30-45 minutes. I'm not bleeding or crippled like I was with the hemorrhoids. I don't have to take a bath after I go just to relax that area. It's insane..in a great way! I go to the bathroom, I wipe, I'm done and I could do frickin' cartwheels afterwards. This operation has literally altered my life for the better and I'm certain you'll be joining me in celebrating it.
Yesterday I had a BM in the morning, walked 5 KM for a fundraiser and had some intimate time with my wife. 33 days ago that story would have went like so: "I had a BM in the morning...and was crippled until the next day and didn't do a damned thing."
I also go about 2-3 times per week, but I had to alter my system so much over the years that it was mostly 2 times. I could even go at work if I had to...and I can't believe I'd even consider that.
Good luck with everything. Don't over do it. Take it easy and even if you feel better, just relax and heal yourself.
I am excited for you to feel as good as I do. I wish you all the best with your recovery and raise a toast to your new life! Keep posting to let us know how you're doing!

Hey Moxxi -
Thanks for the widsom and encouragement. Glad you are feeling so well...and still with us!
Today is day five post op - Have had 3 BM's since my last post..all within 24 hours...each time the after burn got a little better in the tub and lasted less time...some bleeding, but not too much. The mineral oil really, as my doctor said it would, makes things "slide" right out! He only wants me to continue that for a couple more days. Then switch to stool softeners...not sure how much I should take?
Pain wise, I really think that I am doing well....I went 10 hours today with nothing...just took 2 advil for mild aching and "pressure". The discharge is gross and chaffing me, not sure if my doc is OK with me putting anything on it. I see him day after tomorrow for the 1 wk post op and will ask then.
I am going to stay out of work through the end of next week...that will give me over 2 wks of recovery time. :-D
