My 25 year old daughter was diagnosed with hypothyroid desease when she was 16. Very active kid, in sports etc. and now has a very physical job. Besides taking her meds properly and constantly dieting has struggled with her weight. She has been on thyroid Rx and despite what all the litature says about being able to control weight or loose weight it seems to be a false hope. She called and said she was thinking about asking her doctor about having her thyroid removed. Either way she is on meds the rest of her life. I am not sure removal is a solution, but she is frustrated with not being able to shed pounds as active as she is. Anyone else suffering with weight despite taking meds and tests show all the right levels?
