I got the birth control shot a month after i had my baby in september which means i got in in oct of 08 i got it on time my last shot was due in august of 09 I never got it because the shot made me bleed for months straight! Its now october i had a period in september and it was a very heavy one its not October 23 and i still have not had a period. I'm freaking beacause i am 19 with one child and im not financialy stable for another one at the moment and i don't want to get and abortion or adoption. I have now been off the depo for about month....my last shot was due in October of 2009...I didnt have any problems I would say for the first couple of weeks..but now I peeing all the time as well have awful pains in my lower stomach...it gets so bad sometimes i cant walk..this pain has been goin on for the last 4 days i would say, there is no blood assoicated with it. At first I thought it was my period coming back on..but oh no still nothing...I was previous on the DEPO back in 2006 and just got one shot after the birth of my son in Aug didnt have any problems but due to insurance issue I did not go and get my second shot in Nov.. I bleed for about 2 months and got preg again I would say in 4 months.. I am a very fertile female I get preg when the wind changes and due to having high blood pressure and no other birth control methods working for me i choose depo..now i feel like c**p and havin this awful pain i am goin to the ER if the pain does not stop and i will keep everyone posted

I am 28 years old and have been on the depo for 10 years. I loved every minute of it, I gained zero weight and did not have to stress about getting a period. It has now been about 4 weeks since I have been off the depot and my body is going through weird symptoms. My breasts are sore and I have a heavy discharge once a day, everyday. I am not pregnant, just hope that this transition will not last forever.

okay so i am 18 years old, i have been on the Depo shot for a year now. i love it. the oly bad thing it made my depression and anxiety worse.. but nothing some medications cant fix. after reading all your stories, im so afraid to ever get off the shot. i mean i dont have many side effects on the shot. should i be scared. like i do eventually want to have children in the future. :'(

I just recently stopped taking the depo shot but before that my boyfriend and i had unprotected sex once while i was still on it. But now I've just been having headaches, cramps, fatigue, and all of that. I know that in order to be pregnant you have to miss your period but I've had my period this month. I don't know what to do :-(

Keep your chin up :) I was on Depo for 5 years and stopped so we could get pregnant. The doctor told us it may take some time before getting pregnant but I actually became pregnant within the first 2 months after dicontinuing the depo. Have no fears if it is in God's plan for you it will happen!

I took the Depo-Shot for about a year and did not get another when I was due in either August or Sept. I'm dreading getting my period back, but have had no signs of it so far. I've just been crazy sore around the areas my ovaries are. Like it feels like something is actually making them hurt. I can't wait to lose the weight seeing how I packed on nearly 30lbs over the past year.
One thing I HAVE noticed is that when I was on the Depo-Shot and I went for runs, it caused some sneaky pee-leakage which is needless to say, very embarrassing because I didn't know it was happening until I was no longer running. Now that I have been off of it, the pee-problem is no longer there and I can run longer without worry of people trying to figure out where that smell comes from. :-D

I am only 18 but every since I got my period at 13 I would get really sick every time. throwing up. fainting, really bad cramps, flooding. you name it I got it. they were AWFUL! I got my bf (of two years now) and mum decided that it would be good to go on the jab to help settle my body and so I wouldn't get pregnant. I've recently decided to go off the jab as I fear that although it isn't meant to harm you long term it might, and I really want kids when I'm older. However while being on it I haven't been that moody, or depressed. I've had my times but I am still a teen! I've gained 12kgs in two years but I've also been not exercising as much now that I'm driving around. I NEVER get cramps, or the sick period feeling, i get spotting but it's usually not bad and kind of like the tail end of a period. So being on it has been a dream. BUT. I wanted to know what might happen to my body after it comes off it... and I've been a bit worried about the side effects. I don't mind if I can't get pregnant for like 3 years like some people... as long as I can still get pregnant in the long run. But the feeling pregnant/bloating/sore boobs/ etc etc etc has kinda made me a bit concerned as I have my final school exams in a month and I can't really afford to be sick... Does anyone have any cases like how my body reacts and what it was like coming off the jab? I've heard so many bad ones, I want some good ones! Because being on the jab didn't cause me problems except a tiny bit of weight... so am I different?

I GOT OFF THE DEPO SHOT ON THE 16TH OF APRIL AND IM CRAMPING BLOATING AND ALWAYS HOT, MY HUSBAND AND I ARE WANTING ANOTHER BABY. I started the depo shot on August 24th 2010 and I got my last shot in November I was supposed to get it in Feburary but didnt due to wanting a child I have been off of it since November and I still havnt had that time of the month yet is that normal at all? Im also having pregnancy symptoms and all the tests come back negative so what could this mean?

To libertysky05: I am 20 years old and have been experiencing the same thing as you. I too have gained about 50 pounds and couldnt lose weight regardless of what i did while on the shot. I just got married about a year ago, and the shot has been the worst choice i couldve made, im miserable, moody, depressed and have never been so fat...ive been off it now for about two weeks and tho i feel less moody i feel sick and nausess. when i first started the shot i had my period for three months straight, now i cant seem to get it back??? Id rather have had a baby than gain so much weight and start out a marriage miserable because of whta the shot did to my moods!!!Warning to all: Nobody should be on the shot it is ruining our bodies!
