I got off Depo shot 1 month ago and having weird symptoms

I was supposed to get my depo shot on oct 9 but I didn't go because it has caused me to feel semi pregnant, and made me sleepy, and I feel like I have to work extra hard to work out. But I'm a stay at home mommy I only have one kid, I'm getting dizzy, nauseous, back cramps, and sometimes my boobs will be sensitive. Should I go take a pregnancy test or ultra sound or is it too early for my concerns?

I only took the shot once, and I had it about 5 months ago, and I'm still facing weird symptoms. I'm getting really terrible cramps in my lower back and my stomach. And my period has gotten really irregular and heavy. I've had my period twice this month. And in other months, I've had it for a month and a half. Is this normal after getting off the shot?

 

I had my daughter Nov 4, 2011 and got the depo. My husband and I decided to try for another, since deployment is a possibility this year. I didn't go to my last shot that was supposed to be October 8 2012. I have been having some weird symptoms too. I didn't have a period in Nov, I had spotting in Dec that started the 5th (which was the last start of my last period in 2011). In Jan I was late until the 31 and it was heavy and painful. I have been having headaches, nausea, mood swings, food cravings and swollen/tender breasts. I have taken quite a few pregnancy tests and nothing. I was wondering how long it usually takes for the depo to get out of your system and how long it usually takes to get pregnant?

I was on the depo for 10 years and now off and getting all the symptoms all you guys are talking about almost like being pregnant. I got off so I can get my tubes tied. I am 36 and have 3 kids that are wonderful. I started at 20 so now the time is mine all my kids are almost out of school so now it is time to wait to be a grandma... 

I too have been having all kinds of symptoms post depo. I took the shot initially because I had a period that was lasting two weeks and I was slightly anemic. My tests were all normal no PID or anything that would warrant abnormal bleeding. My Gyn said this would stop it. It did right then but the next month another 15 days of bleeding and then a second shot a month later made me feel like I was literally going to come out of my skin. I felt completely crazy. I decided not to take a third and bled for 21 days. The bleeding stopped for one day and now it comes off and on throughout the day. I never know what is happening. I am glad to be able to see this is a commonality amongst people who have used it though, because otherwise I would think it was something really frightening.

 

I took depo for a year the doctor told me I'd be fine the first month it was great . Then I got so dry every day I went to run I cjaffed so bad down there I bled like a stuck pig . Went back to the doc its ok it ll go away use Vaseline. So then boobs hurt bad lost a ton of weight tights had cramps I was midstas hell hated everything . I wanted to have a baby so I stopped so now I have had my . For 6 fing months and it dosent go away bad pain in my right side throwing up some times the runs. No energy I swear if they put all this shyt in the book about sideeffects I'd a never taken this and my doc just told me today I gottta wait a year to get pregnant. Yet at the shot sign form she said a month after I atop I can get pregnate . So this has been hell I have giving up on advise I'm liveing in hell I'm hopeing any of you who wanna be on it use condoms instead ya there's a risk but believe me pregnancy is a taken a ling time ago over this sh*t.

That's good your situation sounds simliar to mines I've been off and on for 1.5 years my next shot was due this August 8th, 2014 and I skipped it. hopefully I have some luck like you with conceiving my husband and I are ready.

Iv only been on the depo for 6 months as well and iv been having the feeling of being pregnant lately but the last day to get the shot hasn't even come up yet. I worry though at the same time its probably just the depo but all my symptoms are happening before I'm fully of the shot like everyone else. I didn't think I could possibly be prego yet but after reading this story I might just have to go check..

I got off after just one shot.and now im having the same symptoms. The shot is the worst form of b.c. I was given the shot because i was still bleeding 2 1/2 months after pregnancy .They gave it to me in the e.r. i told them i was breastfeeding and they saidnit wouldn't effect it. The shot dried up all my milk.i wish there was a class action law suit. After no milk and the weight gain,mood swings...now this..its a horrible roller coaster

Don't worry I was on depo 4 years and i came off then feel pregnant 4 weeks later don't loose hope always have faith.

I just got my period today , does that mean im ovulating?

It has happened to me and i have been having the same symptoms i go to the doctors next week will let you know what was said

SMH I am 27 and have all that going on. Stopped taking it 4 months ago. Boob's look huge, they hurt and I've had serious leg cramps also SMH I thought I was dying

So completely agree with this post and am sad. Did you ever get pregnant? Never taking the shot again
