hi i'm 17 years old and i haveone sex partner. ok first last month i thought i had a yeast infection i had a odor and milky white discharge(i take care of my hygene) so i spoke woth a doctor and she said i can try otc monistate the generic brand so i did and it worked but right after it went away i got my period...soon after my period ended this month(august)i got it again but the symptoms werent that bad this time i tried a gel applicator and i got my period again after it worked and no sooner when i got off it came back i know i should go to a doctor because the medicine may not be strong enough but last night i was checking my body and in my vagina like as soon as i stuck my finger in there i felt this weird tissue its firm but its right at my hole...im able to stick my finger completly up there i just havent had this happen before...looking for some older women insight on this please thank you

Hi hon! When you are sexually active your chances of yeast infection increase! Did you use the 5 or 7 day Monistat? And did you use it all? Sometime when you stop too early - thinking it's gone - it isn't and just comes back again and again.
The firm tissue could also be something else called a Bartholin Cyst - this will also give you the same symptoms - discharge and odor! And IF it is this then the Monistat wouldn't work! Does it feel like a small lump? OR does it feel like something is swollen! If it feels like a lump then it WILL be a Bartholin Cyst! IF it feels like it is swollen, then it will probably be from the yeast infection. The doctors don't use anything different than what you can get over the counter! So just determine which the tissue feels like OK?
If it is the Bump - bartholin Cyst - then you need to see your doctor and for her to really check it out, it CAN get really infected and become VERY painful! And you will need antibiotics. ALSO either start eating yogurt with Probiotic cultures in it, OR by pill! Yeast infection is from Candida - which we all have and if you take Acidopholus - good bacteria, then this will attack the Candida and keep it at bay!
Oh and by the way I am a MUCH older woman - Unfortunately ;-) XD

I have the same problem . I used monisat 7 but not all the way and this happend . Should I just use it again but finish this time or finish off the one I started but never finished
