What you're describing is unusual. A few things to consider:

  1. Oral Hygiene: Sometimes, smells can be related to dental or oral health issues. Ensuring that you practice proper oral hygiene, including brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups, can help determine if the issue is mouth-related.

  2. Sinus or Respiratory Issues: Infections or issues in the sinus or respiratory tract might cause unusual smells. However, you mentioned the smell primarily occurs when you bite and swallow, which doesn't align with most sinus-related odor issues.

  3. Gastrointestinal Tract: The stomach and gastrointestinal tract can sometimes produce odors, especially if there's an imbalance in the flora or if there's a particular food that's causing an issue. However, since you mentioned you don't smell it when burping, it might not be originating from the stomach.

  4. Medications or Supplements: Some medications or supplements can cause changes in taste or smell. If you've recently started a new medication or supplement, that might be worth considering.

  5. Dietary Factors: What you eat can influence the smell and taste sensations you experience. Foods with strong odors or flavors can linger and might be the cause of what you're experiencing.

  6. Referral to a Specialist: If the issue persists or if you're concerned about it, consider seeking a healthcare professional's advice. They might refer you to an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialist or a gastroenterologist for further evaluation.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.
