Hi my name is Lori. I started taking birth control about a week before I was due to start my period. My period was supposed to start a little over a week ago and has not yet. A few days before it was due to start I felt like I normally do when it gets close to that time, but it has yet to start. I am emotional and exhausted all the time. I have taken two pregnancy tests and they both said I was not pregnant. Since both tests said I am not pregnant I am still taking the birth control pills but if it turns out I am pregnant I want to know so that I can stop taking them. Is there any way that I could be pregnant or is my period being late due to when I started the birth control?

Hi Guest,
Keep taking the birth control as prescribed.
One of the "side effects" of a hormonal birth control is that they can alter the timing of your cycle AND help make it more regular.
You'll likely have your period shortly after you begin taking your "reminder" pills (if you use them).
I don't think you're pregnant if you are using them as prescribed.
