I am dong some research for school about the sympathetic nervous system; specifically about some increased functions…..anyway I need to know about receptors of sympathetic nervous system. Anyone here knows?

Yes, as you know already the sympathetic nervous system is part of the autonomic nervous system, which works at the subconscious level and controls the workings heart, blood vessels, glands, intestines and bladder. Those nerves secrete a chemical called norepinephrine, which belongs to a class of chemicals called catecholamines. Norepinephrine binds to different receptors on various organs;receptors are: alpha-adrenergic receptors, beta-1-adrenergic receptors, beta-2-adrenergic receptors.
