I was just wondering if a person was to have some form of parathyroid problem, could this cause the white blood cells to be extremely high and continuing to rise ?

Hi emma,
Not usually by itself. There would more likely be a problem with calcium levels.
White blood cells, there are always some, increasing would tend to indicate an infection. It could also be stress, an allergy, or the presence of some meds, usually antibiotics. It could also indicate leukemia.
Hope it helps.
