I have inflamed Skene Glands. (paraurethral glands) I saw my OBGYN and they said they couldn't do anything for me. They said to try to use Styptic Pencils (Dissolved in boiling water, and pour over or apply with a swab once cooled to the gland) Does this sound right? Are there any other remedies? Are there any specialist that specialize in this?
My symptoms are occasional painful urination, and always painful sex before and after. This started 5 months ago when I had my son. They have already put me through a treatment of antibiotics and tested me for stds, uti, and bladder infections, all which came back negative. My OBGYN said there wasn't a cyst there either.

I had a paraurethral cyst about 3 years ago. I had every symptom you describe above and it was about 3 months after my daughter was born that I discovered it. It was the size of a large blacl olive, and really painful. It had a smelly discharge and was painful to pee and have sex. I finally went to the doctor (urologist) about a year after it had showed up. They said it was a cyst and it needed to be removed and tested to see if it was cancerous. For my surgery they put under totally under anesthea, drained the pus from the cyst, and stitched me back up. When I woke up, I was screaming. It was the most pain I had ever been in including childbrith. It hasn't come back since, so I highly reccommend finding a urologist in your area. What your doctor told you sounds ridiculous!!! Just look in the phone book for a urologist and when you call to schedule the appointment, tell them you have a painful cyst on your urethra. Good luck.
