I have been on the birth control pill for 7 years now, same brand and pill the whole time. About 3 weeks ago, I decided to 'skip' my period. I've done this once before, and had no problem before and my doctor said it was okay as long as I did not do this frequently. I havent 'skipped' my period in about 2 years.
Instead of taking the placebo pills, I went straight to taking the next months pills. I didn't miss a day. My period usually starts 2 days into the placebo pills and lasts 3-4 days. I started bleeding a little bit on the day I was scheduled to get my period and didn't think much of it. But now its been 3 weeks and I am still spotting/bleeding. Some days are heavier than others, but not as heavy as my usual period. I can usually get away without wearing anything because I just see blood when I use the bathroom, but some days I do wear a regular sized tampon ( i usually wear heavy tampons on my period).
I'm getting really tired of all of this and I'm wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else or if this will stop when I get my period or if I really should go to the doctor.
