Hello, My wife has a degenerating back in her L4 and L5 Discs. The surgen wants to do a disc replacement vs fusion because of better results replacement can give. The only thing is our insurcane will not approve it yet... Appearently the same insurance comopany (Blue Cross / Blue Sheild) is already approving this on the east coast but not in Minnesota yet. Is there anything we can do, is it possible to buy insurance from another company that is approving? Does anyone know a timeline? I just have no idea where to ask these questions... Thanks to anyone who has some insight...

I live in Illinois and have been rejected twice by BCBS. The second time was after Charite filed an appeal for me. I'm wondering if I hold out for coverage someday or cough up $100k for the surgery out of pocket.
