I estimate most of women do not care if a man is circumcised or not. After all, what do they fall in love with... the man or his penis? In my opinion women who claim that circumcision is better, who seem to prefer circumcision are insecure about their femininity and think that circ is a way of leveling the playing field. Well, they are wrong.

My survey said that most of women don't really care much either way and while those who prefer circumcised men outnumber those who prefer uncircumcised men, this is hardly something to get too excited about. Few women among, lets say the 20%, who prefer circumcision actually pressure men into getting circumcised, though it certainly does happen. I got into conversation once with a guy who had been dumped by his girlfriend because he wasn't circumcised, so he was sure that circumcision is better. But among the survey respondents, only one third of those women who preferred circumcised men had suggested circumcision to their partners.

it is only in the US where the circumcised penis is preferred for non-religious reasons. In the rest of the world, only 20-25% of the men are circumcised and most of those are either Jewish or Islamic, doing it solely for religious reasons.

The original post and its answers present by way of hearsay a vocal minority view point put forward by the anticircs. I am a psychtherapist and I conclude that these people have a foreskin fetish. They fail to see the benefits of circumcision and the right of parents to choose or of adolescents to make a decision pro or con with the advice of their parents. Pressure from the anticirc people confuse a rational decision of physicians and parents whether to circumcise or not. I respect either of these decisions as long as they are not made by other persons outside the professional and family points of view.

I tend to agree with filup.

There is a very vocal minority who are adamantly against circumcision.

In most all discussions with women (usually in the USA) the number of circumcised men is so large that sex with an UN-circumcized male is already in the minority. Therefore, any informal survey in the USA will be biased toward circumcision on the basis of shear numbers alone.

In my opinion uncircumcised is better. Circumcised males are missing about 15 square inches of penile skin and thousands of high pleasure giving nerve endings. In my opinion for most males circumcisions very much decrease sexual pleasure and for most males circumcisions do little or no good. No national medical organization in the world recommends that baby boys be circumcised. The U.S. is the only place in the world where it is common for baby boys to be circumcised with out religious reasons. According to the AAP infant male circumcisions do as much harm as good. Also the AAP states that the POTENTIAL medical benefits of infant male circumcisions are not strong enough for the AAP to recommend it. So in my opinion it is not justifiable to circumcise baby boys, especially since many males who were circumcised as a baby resent it that they were circumcised when they grow up.

well when i get erect, my foreskin goes back making it look like a regular penis head....so all in all the foreskin just makes ur penis look larger...and if a girl doesnt like you for having an uncircumcised penis, then she really only wants sex from you right?

You are correct that the normal uncircumcised penis when erect looks like an circumcised penis. Before having sex be sure that the glans is clean using a mild soap and water. If you prefer being uncircumcised, I respect that. Your last sentence makes no sense."if a girl doesn't like you for having an uncircumces penis, then really only wants sex from you right."
Wrong. If she only wanted sex, then she would have it with anyone including you.

There are a number of reasons the girl would want to have intercourse with someone who is circumcised: Men and boys in her family are all circumcised. Other sex partners are cut. Circumcised men have greater staying power than the hypersensitive uncircumcised glans.

Circumcision is a cultural norm in the USA, also in So. Korea (about 98%), the Philippines (about 99%), the South Sea Islands including Hawaii, 50% of the countries in Africa and a growing minority in Great Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, So. Africa, Mexico, Central America and in some countries in South America. The English speaking countries once had high rates of cirucmcision until their National Health ruled it out as a necessity. Now with the AIDS epidemic, other courntries are returning to the earlier practice. Of course just about all Jewish and Muslim men are circumcised. Over all the worldwide rate of circumcision is about 40%.

The rate of infant circumcisions and adult circumcisions in the USA among Caucasians, African-Americans, and Asian-Americans is about 85% a year. It is close to 90+% in the 1950s and 1960s. The Latino population in many of our large cities, especially LA and Miami, generally don't have their sons circumcised. That low rate pulls down the average in those areas to 60%, e.g in LA and Miami.

Infant circumcision is more humane now when antipain creams are spread on the penis or there is a deadening shot to the main penile nerve. The loss of the foreskin is meaningless. The nerve endings there are still intact in the shaft of the penis. No sexual pleasure is lost. The infant foreskin removed amounts to about 5% of the skin of the the penis. Those having a free hand circumcision or one of the clamps retain part of the foreskin displaced to the shaft.

The anticirc small minority has a foreskin fetish, a perversion. Their statistics are incorrect. Their view of the penis is also incorrect. They have overwhelmed the internet with their propaganda. Circumcision does no harm. It is not mutilation like the so called female "circumcision," where the external genetalia of the woman is totally removed.

One asset of male circumcision is simplified hygiene, washed once like the rest of the body in the shower. Oral sex is more pleasurable to the woman or male partner. It is a first line of defense against STDs and HIV (a woman infected passes on the virus to the uncircumcised male). This is indicated by scientific-medical surveys from Canada, France, So. Africa, and the USA.

Is circumcision medically helpful? Yes. Is uncircumcision altogether unhelpful. No, provided that hygiene is practiced and that phimosis or infections under the foreskin are treated.

I had a friend in high school, who had a tight foreskin (phimosis). The foreskin could not slide back with an erection. He never consulted a doctor about it. Intercourse was painful. He had difficulty pissing. He had infections not treated. Eventually he developed cancer of the penis. The penis was removed. But it was too late. The cancer had spread to the bladder and prostate. He died in his early 50s.

In the Philippines, South Korea, and south Pacific islands it is uncommon for males to be circumcised until late childhood or later. So in those places at least the males can usually decide for themselves if they are going to be circumcised or not. Most males are circumcised in those places largely because of peer pressure, but at least they have a choice. According to the WHO about 30% of the males in the world are circumcised, and about 68% of circumcised males in the world are Muslims. Estimates do vary though on the percent of males who are circumcised in the world.

Only 1 medical study has ever been done that measured the sensitivity of the different parts of the foreskin. That study was done a couple of years ago in California by a group of doctors. According to that study, circumcisions cut off the 5 most sensitive parts of the penis. Other studies have been done that show no difference in sensation between cut and uncut, but those studies have no credibility with me because they ignored the foreskin. To my knowledge, Dr. John Taylor from Canada is the only Doctor who ever studied the nerve endings on the penis. According to Dr. Taylor the most pleasurable nerve endings on the penis are in the inner foreskin and most of those nerve endings are cut off by circumcision making it so circumcised males have much less pleasure. In my opinion it is overwhelmingly obvious and evident that circumcisions decrease sexual pleasure, but of course it is very controversial if circumcisions decrease sexual pleasure or not.

Phimosis can be easily fixed by stretching the foreskin to make it grow wider. More males get breast cancer than penile cancer. Many countries where males aren't circumcised have a lower penile cancer rate than the U.S. The biggest cause of penile cancer is smoking. The American Cancer Society doesn't recommend that males be circumcised to prevent cancer. If circumcision offers any protection against penile cancer it isn't much.

filup, how do you figure only about 5% of the penile skin is removed by circumcision? On an average adult male from the base of the penis to the glans is about 5 inches, an average foreskin is about 3 inches long. So on average about 37.5% of the penile skin is cut off by circucisions. For many males though the best parts of the penis are cut off by circumcision. Everyone is wrong on some things, but for you to say that only about 5% of the penile skin is removed by circumcision that clearly shows that you have no idea about what circumcisions cut off.

In the U.S. about 56% of baby boys are circumcised, in Canada about 9% of baby boys are circumcised, and in England about 1% of baby boys are circumcised not counting Muslims and Jews. No national medical organization in the world recommends that baby boys be circumcised, not even the AAP. According to the AAP infant male circumcisions do as much harm as good. The main peadiatric authority in Canada recommends against circumcising baby boys. The Canadian Paediatric Society states "Circumcision of newborns should not be routinely performed"

According to the CDC the U.S. has the highest rates of std's of any industrial country in the world. In most industrial countries though near 0% of males are circumcised. Also the U.S. has the highest AIDS rate of any industrial country in the world. So if circumcisions reduce the chances of males getting std's and AIDS then why does the U.S. have the highest rates of std's and AIDS of any industrial country in the world? Last year the CDC did a study in the U.S. on circumcisions and AIDS. THe CDC reported that according to their study U.S. men are just as likely to become HIV infected if they are circumcised or not. Some studies have shown that circumcisions INCREASE the likelihood of males getting AIDS and dozens of studies have shown that circumcisions do not decrease the likelihood of males getting AIDS. So with organizations that claim circumcisions decrease the likelihood of males getting AIDS they are really cherry-picking evidences.

I chose to get circumcised at 28 years of age, and have countless hours of experience as to what it is like both ways, which makes me a pro. at what can be expected, and all I will tell you is, it is one of the finest decisions I have ever made, and would do it all over again in a heartbeat!!
