Hello! I am 50 years old and I have been having problems with my thyroid gland few months ago. My doctor said it is connected to my hormones and menopause. He prescribed Propylthiouracil. Since I have problems with headache from time to time I use ibuprofen because it helps me in very short period of time. I haven't asked my doctor is it safe to take ibuprofen together with Propylthiouracil.

Hello! As I know there have been no reported interactions. Ibuprofen is also well tolerated medicine and commonly used for treatment of pain and inflammation. I only heard it shouldn't be used while taking hormonal contraceptive medicines. Propylthiouracil is a medicine that is used to decrease the amount of thyroid hormones produced by the thyroid gland. Also, it is usually well tolerated and side effects are really rare. If you take ibuprofen occasionally while on Propylthiouracil I think this combination can't create any possible adverse reactions.
