Hello! My brother has always had lack of attention to details. He was a poor listener; he has lost and forgot many things. Also, he always avoided activities and tasks requiring mental effort and he was easily distracted. Whole family used to think he was just a spoiled kid, but his doctor diagnosed Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He is taking Adderall now and his improvement is visible. He took ibuprofen for his toothache yesterday. Is this allowed combination?

Hi! I don’t think one Ibuprofen pill taken for toothache, while on Adderall, could cause any problems. But, in case these two medications are used together more often your brother has to consult his doctor. Any combination of drugs shouldn’t be done without consultation with your doctor. Since Adderall may impair the ability of the patient engaged in activities such as operation machinery or vehicles and ibuprofen has some sedative effects, as almost all pain killers, this could increase sedative effects and create potential danger to the patient.
