I am 37 years old and so far, I did not have any problems concerning my health. I did my breast examinations regularly and unfortunately, something is not as it should be. I will have to go for a biopsy and have to admit that I am frightened because of the procedure. Is pain a common side effect of breast biopsy?

As far as I know, almost all breast biopsies are not painful and require only bandages and maybe some ice to ease small swelling around the bruise where the needle was inserted. So, there might be a bit of discomfort but you can deal with that via pain relievers (acetaminophen for example). So, other than results of the biopsy, there is no need for worrying.
